Flying Start’s Outdoor Staff Training!
Flying Start Staff have been training in the woods!
Outside in Tehidy Woods the staff have been focusing their continued professional development on outdoor play and learning opportunities with nature.
They used Andy Goldsworthy inspiration to find natural objects and create art work in his style…
The staff discovered how to engage children and develop nature walks and treasure hunts into artistic and expressive play opportunities.
The children can use natural objects to represent and express their imagination!
Then they really got expressive creating forest faces and friends!
The staff suggested activities for the children to represent their emotions, to take mirrors into the forest for expression guidance or to create faces to make up stories about their forest friends… so many ideas!
Finally the staff developed a simple den building idea on a smaller scale to house their animals! The children love to find forest breakfast for furry friends and now can also build animal dens using natural objects!
