Today the Preschool children at Flying Start Redruth brought the garden into the kitchen!
The children picked fresh blackberries from our garden and rosemary that we have been growing in our herb garden before getting busy making these delicious swirls.
While cooking, we also talked about hob safety and the importance of staying safe around hot surfaces, pans and utensils.
Our Day Nursery children at Flying Start Redruth have loved starting their new Summer theme!
They have been exploring a variety of sea animals and investigating seaweed through sensory play, encouraging curiosity and new vocabulary.
Outdoors, the children have enjoyed working together to build sandcastles, developing their creativity and motor skills.
The Preschool children at Flying Start Redruth have loved beginning their new Beach theme!
They have decorated shells, enjoyed serving their friends in our Ice Cream Shop role-play area, and created a tally chart to find our favourite ice cream flavours, developing their maths skills.
The children also made their own delicious mango sorbet and learnt about the different beach flags and what they mean to help keep us safe by the sea.
Last year, our pre-schoolers at Flying Start Redruth planted garlic in our garden.
Last week, it was finally time to harvest it, and we used our homegrown garlic to make delicious garlic butter.
In Cooking Club, the children made fresh dough balls to enjoy with their garlic butter.
They were absolutely delicious!
Last week our fab team at Redruth planned some lovely activities, in order to support the children’s understanding of Mental Health Awareness week. They had a spa session, practiced mindfulness, and did some amazing yoga poses too!

This week, the Day Nursery children have had lots of fun exploring large-scale art and dancing to music, expressing themselves creatively and enjoying plenty of movement. They also enjoyed role-playing at a Teddy Bears’ Picnic while reading We’re Going on a Bear Hunt.
