Flying Start @ Marjon Babies Are Busy Exploring Their Theme!

Flora’s Mini Explorers had a wonderful time getting creative in the garden.
Using colorful flowers and specially designed boards, the children carefully threaded blooms into the holes to create beautiful pictures and patterns.
This hands-on activity encouraged creativity, fine motor skills, and an appreciation for nature as the young explorers transformed simple flowers into artwork.

The toddler room at Marjon have been exploring lots of activities to keep them cool.
We have explored pouring and filling with water, having water fights and exploring our word of the Week ‘frog’ using sensory trays and learning all about frogs.

In the toddler room, we have been learning all about bees!
The children painted beehives, fed the bees, and made bumblebees using playdough and pipe cleaners.
We also enjoyed going outside into the garden to hunt for bumblebees, looking high and low to see what we could find.

The children in the shepherd’s hut are enjoying exploring and learning about growing plants and flowers as part of this term’s theme.
Through exciting indoor and outdoor activities, they are developing their curiosity and understanding of nature.
On the decked area, the children have been planting, watering, and observing flowers and plants grow, encouraging hands-on learning, teamwork, and a love for the natural world!

The Flora’s Mini Explorers recently enjoyed a magical forest adventure filled with creativity and imagination.
The children collected natural treasures such as leaves, flowers, sticks, and muddy water to create their own pretend potions and magical mixtures.
Working together, they explored the outdoors, shared ideas, and had lots of fun turning nature into a world of wonder and discovery!

Our toddler room @ Marjon are really enjoying this terms theme, Dear Zoo.
The children have enjoyed lots of fun animal theme activities!

This term the children in the shepherd’s huts have been diving into our themed story, The Flower Thief by Alice Hemming and Nicola Slater, which is a fantastic way to explore the magic of spring.
The story is inspiring us to look closely at the changes happening all around us, from blooming flowers to the return of wildlife, sparking lots of curiosity and conversation!

The babies have been enjoying exploring lizzie the lamb in forest school this term.
This week, we are exploring different textures that are soft, hard, crunchy, and spongy.
We have also been playing with lambs in pretend mud and then washing them clean!

This week, our fabulous team at Marjon celebrated 33 years for Flying Start being in business, and 20 years since we opened our Marjon setting!
The staff decorated the nursery with balloons, and the children enjoyed colouring in pictures of our logo, Flora, decorating cakes, playing party games, and having a big party lunch!
