Flying Start @ Camborne Try Out Making Sushi!
Flying Start @ Camborne had an exciting session trying their hand at making sushi, thanks to a parent at the nursery who agreed to come in and share her skills with the children!

Janise’s Mum is a chef at a local takeaway, and she showed the children how to make vegetarian sushi, which is a really healthy and delicious food from Japan!

Janise showed her friends how she helps her Mum make them at home for their family, and all the children listened carefully to the order of the different ingredients, and then had a go at rolling them up!

They made their sushi with boiled white rice flavoured with Japanese Vinegar, which the children tasted and decided it was both a sweet and sour flavour! Then they added cucumber and carrot sticks, but Janise’s Mum also explained how they can have chicken, beef, fish or seafood sticks in them too!

After they had made them, the children of course got to eat them and share them with their friends – delicious!
Thank you so much to Janise’s Mum for taking time out of her week to come in and share this fascinating and delicious activity with the children!
