Flying Start @ Cornwall College Host A Chinese Stay & Play!

Flying Start @ Cornwall College held a stay and play event for the whole nursery revolving around Chinese New Year!

During the day, the children had all sorts of fun… They had Chinese music and dressing up, – the older children made special oriental hats!

In the baby room, the children decorated Chinese lanterns and hung them from the ceiling – they looked amazing! Meanwhile the toddlers made a Chinese dragon out of lots of cardboard boxes in a chain!

And the children enjoyed a feast of Chinese noodles and sweet and sour chicken for snack with prawn crackers and soy sauce, which they really enjoyed!

Then, lots of parents and guardians joined the children for a celebration…  From the baby room right through to preschool, the children experimented with making spring rolls, using very thin filo pastry and choosing their fillings before practicing rolling!

The parents had a great time sharing a Chinese style snack with their children, and some had A LOT of fun sitting in our Chinese dragon which the children had         made from boxes!!
