Flying Start @ Cornwall College Join In With ‘Children’s Mental Health Week’!

At Flying Start @ Cornwall College, they’ve been looking at ‘who we are’, ‘what we look like’, and ‘how we feel’ as part of Children’s Mental Health Week, which is being marked across the country!.

They made different coloured playdough and used eyes / noses/ lips/ hair to make portraits in dough!

In toddlers and preschool, they have been using mirrors to recognise themselves and looking in magazines and books to notice differences and similarities.

The children have painted paper plates and found different textures to replicate their hair in toddlers, feeling all of our different hair types!

In preschool, the children have drawn pictures of themselves and coloured in/ collaged little people, noticing what they are wearing, what colour their eyes are (after the black and white bits!) and if their faces have smiles or frowns!

They have also looked in magazines and cut out faces that looked like their family, recognising skin colours and different length hairs and curliness!

Great work, thinking all about identity, Cornwall College!
