Flying Start @ Cornwall College Learn About India

This week it was international food day and upper preschool did some food tasting of food from India. We tasted poppadom’s, naan bread and mango chutney. We spoke about the different textures and what the food tasted like. We spoke about India as a country, what the people are like and what food the country is known for. We also compared the different flavours.
We continued this learning on through the week, using our fine motor skills to create our own Indian flag and in a magnificent rice sensory tray that was full of different Indian patterns.
We also looked at different Henna patterns and learnt about what Henna is. This was a lot of fun and we had to focus really hard to try and copy the traditional patterns.
