Flying Start @ Cornwall College’s Preschool Department are supporting the CPR Food Bank!
The preschool children talked about what the food is for and what types of food last long enough for people to eat when they need it without going off…
One child decided that the Food Bank was ‘grown up recycling, we let other people use it who need it more’!! (How very clever!)
They organised a dressing up day and raised some money, which meant as well as donating from home the children then went on a trip to the supermarket to find the right foods to buy for the Food Bank!
The children settled on tinned foods and dried foods as these would keep a long time, one child even chose 2 packets of biscuits to give to the Food Bank telling us…
‘Everyone likes to have a biscuit!’
The children added the food they had bought with the money they raised to the FoodBank box in the nursery.
It is now full and over flowing so the children are going to be visiting the FoodBank to deliver it, and to learn a little more about who it helps in the community.
We think this is a fantastic project to be a part of, helping people who need it in our local community!
