Flying Start @ Duchy Pre-School Visit A Working Farm!
Flying Start @ Duchy pre-school had a special visit to Duchy College Farm!
Tractor Tommy͛ arrived to pick them up from nursery and they got to sit in the trailer, to be carefully driven to the farm! They even sang ‘Old McDonald had a farm’ on the way…
Once they had arrived at the farm, the farmer took them into the milking parlour where they waited for the cow to come in to be milked. The farmer showed the children the equipment that he would use to milk the cow as well as how to do it by hand – and the cow stood very still whilst he did this!
Once the cow had been milked, the children were allowed to have a look at the milk that was produced as well as the food that they eat.
They then got to meet the cow and stroke her before going to where they sleep and eat their food!
What a great experience for the children.
