Flying Start @ Helston Learn To Stay Safe On Our Beaches!

The Pre-schoolers have been learning about beach safety. Firstly, we spoke about how we can stay safe at the beach. The children came up with a couple of their own ideas first: staying with our mummies and daddies, wearing sun cream and a sun hat.

Then Danielle showed them some pictures of lifeguards and asked who they might be and what they do. She then explained to the children who didn’t know that the lifeguards are there to keep us safe at the beach and how they do this. Next we spoke about the flags that we see at the beach and the reason as to why they are there.

Our conversation then moved on to how we can keep the beach safe. We came up with putting our rubbish in the bin will keep the beach, and the sea, safe.
