Flying Start @ Camborne Risk Assess and Build!

Flying Start @ Camborne have some busy builders!

In the garden over the Easter holidays the children decided to make believe play as builders.

The children put their high visability jackets on, grabbed a pen and clipboard and started to risk assess their equipment. Checking that their planks, cones, tuff spots, plastic tubes and tyres were safe they identified hazards and discussed ways to minimise the risks.

The children then put their risk assessments to good use, by building! They made lots of different construction pieces all with their own ideas and specifications!

Welldone builders!

Flying Start @ Camborne and Rosewarne Take To The Trees!

Flying Start @ Camborne’s Fun Club at Rosewarne make the most of the dry beautiful weather and take to the tree tops!

The children explored trees, assessing the risk dependant on height and difficulty of climbing and then once agreed if safe enough they took on the challenge!

Balancing, climbing, pulling, stepping were all some of the movements the children had to do to wind in and out of lost of bare branches.

The children also discovered some fallen branches, that they decided to use for den building back at the nursery base.

The children had to work together to transport branches larger than them!

Flying Start @ Camborne Explore Structures and Balancing…

Flying Start @ Camborne have been exploring structures, balancing objects and experimenting with the tipping point!

The children started in the garden by exploring some large pebbles, they started stacking them to make towers.

The staff then supported the children in researching online to see which artists also do art and sculpture like this, which gave them the idea to stack more objects – any objects!

As you can see in the picture, very careful balancing of cotton reels resulted in a fabulous colourful structure! Well done!

The children visited in half term, and got to meet the animals, stroke and groom them and also help them feed!

The children felt very lucky to have such a lovely opportunitiy right on the doorstep of their nursery site.

The children spent their holidays visiting the animals, climbing trees, going on walks in the forest and past the pond.. and lots of competitive games to keep them busy too!

This camera is both adult and child friendly and is a V-Tech model which has lots of exciting features.
