Flying Start @ Helston Toddlers Practise Cutting Up Snack!

The toddlers at Flying Start @ Helston have been practising cutting up their snacktime fruit themselves, with their own knife…

The staff have been helping & closely supervising, whilst the children really improve their hand control using the knife – and they’ve been really concentrating!

This is a really great step forward for the toddlers to gain more independence, ready for pre-school!

Flying Start @ Saltash Make Easter Baskets!

The pre-schoolers at Flying Start @ Saltash have been getting creative with Easter crafts!

They carefully followed instructions to build an Easter basket out of card, and decorated them too.

Then they got the paints out to paint their very own eggs to put in their baskets, and had a lot of fun getting messy in the process!

Once their eggs had dried, they popped them in their baskets, and took them home as lovely gifts!

Flying Start @ Saltash Hatch A Dinosaur Egg!

The children at Flying Start @ Saltash have been looking at the life cycle of a dinosaur, and learning all about them!

They put the pictures in order to understand how it grows and hatches from an egg, and looked at models of baby dinosaurs.

They then got their own dinosaur egg, and watched it hatch… wow!

You can see from the photos how excited the children were to see it hatch!

What an exciting bit of learning!

Flying Start @ Helston Enjoy An Easter Walk!

The staff & children at Flying Start @ Helston had loads of fun at their special Easter walk!

Although the wet weather had made theconditions very mu  ddy and wet, the children put their welly boots & coats on and really enjoyed stomping around looking for the hidden bunnies, lambs and daffodils!

The children had to use their exploring skills and their counting skills to find them and count how many they had found on their walk.

They then had some cake and treats, and even raised some money for charity… eggcellent!

The staff & children came into nursery wearing their odd socks and they held a cake sale to raise money!

The children & staff had some lovely discussions about how we can celebrate the ways in which we are different.
