Flying Start @ Marjon Enhance Their Outdoors Ready For The Summer Time…

Flying Start @ Marjon have been enhancing their garden space through upcycling and re inventing resources to create exciting new spaces and learning environments outside.

The staff would like to thank all parents and friends of the nursery who have donated tyres, plastic sheeting, pots, pans and utensils. These have been used to make dens and tunnels to hide in and run through, musical lines and new learning opportunities.

Now the children and staff are waiting for more sunshine to keep them in the garden for longer… just don’t forget the sun hats!

Flying Start @ Marjon’s DIY Project Update…

Flying Start @ Marjon are sending in updates to their DIY Project!

It started with a walk to B+Q to select their materials and pay for them. Since then the children have been busy risk assessing their tools, practising using them and now building with Grant.

The preschool children have explored saws and hammers on tree stumps and logs using their fine motor skills to carefully control and guide the tools, being extra careful to be as accurate as possible!

Look out for their new structures in the garden!

Flying Start @ Marjon Shout…. ”KUNG HEY FAT CHOY!” To You All!

Flying Start @ Marjon have been celebrating Chinese New Year in their preschool department.

The children were visited by two chinese ladies who explained to them what Chinese New Year was, what they would be eating and how they would be celebrating.

The children then had a turn at dancing and dressing up inside the Lucky Dragon!

The ladies were very kind because they also brought the traditional Chinese New Year gifts for the children, this included fortune cookies and red money enevelopes with real money in them! Thankyou so much!

One final word…. ‘kung hey fat choy!’… Happy New Year!

Flying Start @ Marjon Make Lots Of Fun From The Bad Weather!

Flying Start @ Marjon have been exploring the effects of lots of rain, wind and bad weather!

The children in all departments have been out looking in the garden and around the nursery to see what the weather has created over night!

Here the babies got dressed up warm and then found lots of muddy puddles to splash in.

The preschool and toddler children found the drain pipes and guttering and collected the drips in their water play!

Natural play is often where the children are able to explore and learn through their findings most, but please help the staff to ensure this can happen with lots of waterproofs, warm hats and welly boots! Thankyou!

Flying Start Nurseries are Reminding All Parents About School Admissions Deadline

This is the deadline that the admissions at Cornwall County Council need to have recieved your online or paper application, please visit: http://www.cornwall.gov.uk/default.aspx?page=35035 for more information.

We would also like to kindly remind you that Flying Start Nurseries offer free high quality (good or outstanding) places for 3,4, and 5 year olds (with some 2 year olds also being eligible). These nursery places work the same as school funding and using the same curriculum reception class teachers use, therefore ensuring school readiness and learning and planning appropriate to their age and ability in a friendly learning through play environment. The advantage of staying at nursery is that your child is on a 1 adult to 8 children maximum, and therefore recieves high levels of attention and support in their learning and development!

Please speak to your manager for further information.
