Flying Start Nurseries are reminding all parents that the deadline for school admissions is January 15th 2014.

This is the deadline that the admissions at Cornwall County Council need to have recieved your online or paper application, please visit: http://www.cornwall.gov.uk/default.aspx?page=35035 for more information.

We would also like to kindly remind you that Flying Start Nurseries offer free high quality (good or outstanding) places for 3,4, and 5 year olds (with some 2 year olds also being eligible). These nursery places work the same as school funding and using the same curriculum reception class teachers use, therefore ensuring school readiness and learning and planning appropriate to their age and ability in a friendly learning through play environment. The advantage of staying at nursery is that your child is on a 1 adult to 8 children maximum, and therefore recieves high levels of attention and support in their learning and development!

Flying Start @ Redruth have been making potions!

The children have been out in the garden mixing anything they can find to make interesting lotions and potions!

The concotions and cocktails created have included the very important base ingredient of mud, soil and compost, and then these natural aromas have been enhanced with leaves, flowers and even herbs! In this picture you can see some scenty mint leaves crushed on top for added smells!

As appetising as these potions may seem the children have only been pretending to try! Using their sense to mix, smell and pretend taste as they go! Some true chefs in the making at Redruth!
