Flying Start @ Redruth Celebrate St Pirans Day With Pasties!

Flying Start @ Redruth have home made their own pasties to celebrate St Piran’s Day and all things Cornish!

The Preschool children started by making their own pastry, rubbing butter into flour and then letting it rest in the fridge.

Once the pastry was ready the children cut off chunks and rolled it our, making big empty spaces ready for their fillings!

The children then layered in their meat, potatoes, turnip and onions to create their pasties.

Then came the tricky fold and crimp to create a lovely fresh crust, the preschoolers all did a fantastic job using tools to help them and then their trusty fingers to ensure the pasties were crimped and sealed ready to bake!

What a lovely treat to take home for a Cornish Supper!
