Flying Start @ Cornwall College’s Concentration and Fine Motor Skills!
Flying Start @ Cornwall College’s Preschoolers have been focusing their concentration on their fine motor skills.
Using large grip tweezers and tongs, the children have been experimenting with different objects they can pick up…
The children went to the woods and found sticks, leaves, pine cones and little acorn shells, and then tried using the tweezers to transport the materials across the sensory tray and into different containers.
The children had good fun trying to get very small or strange shaped objects into the pots, this worked their fine motor control, hand eye coordination, and hand strength as well as increased concentration!
Why not try at home with cooking tongs? Can your child move an orange, a pencil or a sock?! Why not set up races at home and see who can do it the quickest?!
