Flying Start @ Illogan Embrace Autumn

This week @ Flying Start Illogan, the children engaged in an activity centred around “‘the bear hunt,'” we joyfully turned our attention to the delightful theme of autumn, nurturing the ongoing development of our preschoolers. To begin, we thoughtfully enhanced and utilised our fine motor skills by tracing around various items collected from the garden. This activity was not only great fun, but it also supported us in improving our hand-eye coordination.

Additionally, we sang lively and cheerful songs about autumn leaves, which included counting up to 10, further developing our counting skills. As we sang, we took time to admire the beautiful and vibrant autumn colours around us, appreciating the splendour of the changing season.

Furthermore, we embarked on an exciting project where we created magnificent flying contraptions. This task encouraged us to work collaboratively as a team, fostering both teamwork and creativity as we built them.

We also used clay to craft charming autumn ‘animals.’ By incorporating loose parts such as leaves and flowers, we added an extra dimension of creativity to our creations. To finish it all off, we created delightful owls using leaves, showcasing our artistic skills and our ability to transform natural materials into wonderful works of art. We even crafted owls out of clay too. Throughout these activities, we focused on the words camouflage and nocturnal.
