Flying Start @ Marjon and Their Real Hairdressing Shop!
Flying Start @ Marjon have set up a hair dressing role play in their preschool department!
The children brush each other’s hair, measure the length comparing who has long and who has shorter hair.
The children have pretend play opportunities with washing hair, roleplaying a hair cut and of course practicing polite customer service that you would receive in a hair dressers!
Last week the children were measuring Rosie’s hair and they needed lots of pairs of hands and two rulers! It was that long!
When they had measured Rosie’s hair they had a special visitor Daren from Elite Hair and Beauty in Plymouth, who sprayed Rosie’s hair to make it wet, combed it out long and straight and then used special hair dresser scissors to cut it. He gave Rosie’s hair a trim and then the children measured it again to see what had been chopped off!
