Flying Start @ Penryn Are Visited By The RNLI!
Flying Start @ Penryn get a visit from the RNLI,
to support their Beach School learning
and further extend their Lifeguard Roleplay in the Preschool Room!
The children and staff dressed up in the full lifeguard support gear!
Feeling the materials of the clothing and deciding it was very waterproof, so that you could go out in really bad weather and in the sea, trying on the lifejackets, buoyancy aids and safety helmets!
The children listened to the reason for wearing the clothing, and understood it was to keep you warm and dry and help you float in the water!
Roger explained how they save people, the boats, lifeguards, helicopters, and support vessels used to help keep people safe.
He presented the nursery with a big RNLI flag and told the children to keep up the good work.. as they impressed him by knowing their safety beach flags and being able to explain who they get help from at the beach and how they know where to find the lifeguards.. they could even show him their giant sand pit, pretend lifeguard hut and dressing up yellow tshirts and red shorts!
