Flying Start @ Camborne Celebrate National Poetry Week!

The pre-school and toddler departments at Flying Start @ Camborne celebrated National Poetry Work, by exploring poetry and lots of related activities this week!

The pre-schoolers made some lovely pictures with poems about their families, and decorated them with pom poms and shiny papers!

Look how wonderful their poem pictures look!

Meanwhile, the toddlers focused on their hand prints, and printed them alongside a lovely poem!

They then took them home for their parents and carers to have as lovely keepsakes!

Flying Start @ Camborne Celebrate World Mental Health Day With Local Care Home!

Flying Start @ Camborne not only celebrated World Mental Health Day with the children, but also with their parents and families, and with the local residential home!
At the residential home, the children asked the elderly residents what makes them happy and sad… some of them said that the children’s weekly visit makes them happy, which was lovely for them to hear! They made happy face pictures with the children too!
Meanwhile back at nursery, the staff invited parents and families in for some yoga, and dancing to The Happy Song, which they all enjoyed!

All of this week, all of the children have been learning about World Mental Day too… The pre-schoolers have been talking about what makes them happy and sad and drawing pictures of their happy and sad faces.
The toddlers did the same, and used emotion puppets and emotion pebbles to aid their emotion discussions too!
And they finished with all of this brilliant work, by making a fantastic World Mental Health Day display on the wall with all of their work!
