Flying Start @ Camborne Visit Local Library!

Some of the children at Flying Start @ Camborne went on an exciting trip into the local community, to go to the town library!

They walked up to the library in their reflective vests, and then read lots of stories together in the library!

Then they chose some story books to borrow and take back to nursery to read with the other children…

So they used the scanning machine to check the books out, before walking back to nursery!

What a lovely trip to read some new books!

Flying Start @ Camborne Practise Their Road Safety Skills!

The children at Flying Start @ Camborne have been taking part in Road Safety Week!

They have all been learning about how crossings and traffic lights work, and how they need to stay safe and follow safety rules when crossing the road.

The staff set up a crossing (complete with Lou the Lollipop lady!) in the nursery carpark for the children to practice their road safety skills!

Flying Start @ Camborne had a fun-filled day across their whole nursery, for Children in Need!
The children and staff all came to nursery in their pyjamas, and started their day with a special Wake Up Shake Up with the parents and head office staff joining in!
Then they played party games with yellow balloons, decorated cakes with yellow icing and spots, and filled a Pudsey head with all of their coins!
What great fun and great fundraising too!

Flying Start @ Camborne Mark Remembrance Day!

The whole nursery at Flying Start @ Camborne have being doing some activities based around    Remembrance day.

The pre-schoolers made some beautiful poppy paintings…

…whilst the after-schoolers made poppy shaped biscuits!

Then, they went on a walk up into the town, to the war memorial to place their special hand-print poppy wreath there.

What lovely activities to commemorate and learn about Remembrance Day – well done Flying Start @ Camborne.

Flying Start @ Camborne Toddlers Paint Using Jungle Animals!

The toddlers at Flying Start @ Camborne have been reading their story book ‘Monkey Puzzle’, and exploring it further, as it is their toddler room theme for this half term!

The children have been getting creative using paint to print with the jungle animals to make beautiful patterns!

The children got completely stuck into this creative activity… look at those concentration faces!

Great fun was had by all of the toddlers, and some painting masterpieces were made!

The toddler department at Flying Start @ Camborne have been having great fun celebrating Halloween., and exploring lots of Halloween themed activities!

They have been looking at different sized and shaped pumpkins in their sensory trays…

They got creative using apples to make pumpkin pictures…

And have been playing and dancing with Halloween balloons!

Meanwhile, the older children in the After School Club, carved out some pumpkins and the staff carefully lit them!

Flying Start @ Camborne Get Fire Engine Tour!

Whilst out on a walk in the community, the Flying Start @ Camborne pre-school department came across a fire engine and a firefighter just outside of the nursery!

The firefighter invited the children to have a look at the fire engine, and showed them the different parts of the vehicle like the huge reels of hose!

 

The firefighters are going to come and visit all the children at nursery next week, which the children are very excited about!

 

A huge thanks to the local Fire Brigade in Camborne!

Flying Start @ Camborne Take Play-Dough Fun To Local Elderly Home!

After their dough disco event at the nursery, the pre-school children & staff at Flying Start @ Camborne decided to take the play-dough fun and share it with the residents at St. Martins Residential Home!

 

 

One of our brilliant staff members Claire led a very entertaining mini ‘Dough Disco’ session for the residents, as you can see from the photos!

Then the children and the residents all made and played with the play-dough… Great fun was had by all!

  

 

So lovely to see the children sharing one of their favourite activities with the elderly residents… fun for all ages!

It was party time at Flying Start @ Camborne, as they held a very exciting Dough Disco Event!

Flying Start @ Camborne Do Owl-Themed Forest School Session!

The pre-school children at Flying Start @ Camborne have been reading one of their favourite stories… ‘Owl Babies’!

After reading the story lots of times, the pre-schoolers were inspired to go and try and find real Owl Babies in the woods!

They spent their Forest school session looking high and low… and in all the holes in the trees, that they thought the owl babies might like!

 

Then they did some woodland inspired crafts, and made leaves from clay!

 

   

What a fun Forest school session, pre-schoolers!
