Flying Start @ Camborne Pre-School Go Around The World!
The new theme this half term in pre-school at Flying Start @ Camborne is ‘All Around The World’…
This week the children have travelled to China!
They have been looking through holiday brochures, colouring flags, making Chinese lanterns, and even baking their own fortune cookies!
What great fun was had on their ‘travels’…!
Flying Start @ Camborne Celebrate Chinese New Year!
Flying Start @ Camborne have been enjoying & exploring Chinese New year celebrations by making their own good luck envelopes complete with chocolate coin!
Then they went on to make their own Chinese Dragons on paper plates with wonderful bright red paint, sparkles, streamers and a fierce dragon face!
The children have loved the Chinese New Year celebrations at nursery!
Flying Start @ Camborne Celebrate Pancake Day!
As it was pancake day during half term, the fun club children were allowed to go into the kitchen with the staff, to make pancakes!
All the children helped to mix up all the ingredients, and the staff cooked them in the saucepans.
They made vegan pancakes as well as normal pancakes so that their dairy & egg free children could have them as well, and then they all sat down together and had them with banana and honey as toppings!
Delicious!
Flying Start @ Camborne Explore Feelings For Children’s Mental Health Week!
At Flying Start @ Camborne, the children have been sharing their thoughts and feelings for Children’s Mental Health Week, which was happening across the country!
The pre-schoolers have been talking about their feeling and what makes them happy and sad and angry and excited… and then painting their faces onto paper plates.
The toddlers have also been talking about happy and sad, and what this means. They’ve been looking in the mirror and trying out lots of expressions! And then they made collage faces on paper plates!
The babies had a plate sent home for their parents to write what makes their baby happy… they are now proudly displayed in the nursery!
The after schoolers have also been joining in, and have been drawing pictures and talking about what affects their feelings and why. And now the nursery staff have made a lovely display of the drawings & paintings to mark Children’s Mental Health Week!

Flying Start @ Camborne Host Toddler Stay & Play!
The toddlers at Flying Start @ Camborne have been enjoying the wooden heuristic play and exploring different ways of linking the objects…
So they were very excited to welcome mums, dads and families along for a stay & play session at the nursery, with heuristic play, stories & some singing!
The children really enjoyed reading some stories and doing some singing with their Mummies, Daddies and relatives.

Flying Start @ Camborne Host Pre-School Stay & Play!
The pre-school department at Flying Start @ Camborne hosted a stay and play session based on this half term’s theme of occupations!
They had lots of activities going on including using real tools to do woodwork, dressing up and using
bricks like builder and making badges with what we want to be when we grow up on.
There was such a great turnout of parents turning up to join in with the fun & learning – thanks to all who came!
Great fun was had by all!
Flying Start @ Camborne Pre-Schoolers Have A Visit From A Nurse!
The pre-school children at Flying Start @ Camborne have been really enjoying their recent theme of ‘occupation’ and have been learning about lots of jobs that grown ups have. They were very lucky to have a visit from a real life nurse!
She talked to the children all about what a nurse does, and showed them the stethoscope! They all got to have a go listening with it.
She also showed the children how to wrap a bandage, and the children had great fun testing it out and practising on each other!
A huge thank you for visiting the children & teaching them so much!
Flying Start @ Camborne After-School Club Make Pizza!
The after-school club children at Flying Start @ Camborne have been enjoying cooking club!
They have been making their own pizzas… they had great fun spreading the tomato puree, choosing their own topping and adding lots of cheese.
They all had great fun… look at their smiles!
Flying Start @ Camborne Toddlers Enjoy Forest School Session!
This week the toddlers have enjoyed their first Forest School Session with Lou in the garden!
They donned their rainsuits and wellies splashed in the muddy puddles!
They also collected some natural objects to make some fantastic magic potions.
What great fun!
Flying Start @ Camborne Pre-School Enjoy A Special Trip To The Vets!
The pre-schoolers at Flying Start @ Camborne went to visit their local vets surgery, as part of their current theme of ‘occupations’.
At the vets, the children saw a Mummy Bulldog and her 8 puppies! They got to give the puppies a cuddle, and the children were really gentle with them!
They also saw a poorly fox and a dog that had had an operation, at the vets.
They were able to have a look around all the different parts of the vets – even the operating theatre! And they were shown lots of different equipment that the vets use to help make poorly pets feel better.
A huge thank you to the local Vets surgery for hosting such a brilliant visit for our children!
