Flying Start @ Camborne Toddlers Do Cooking Club!
The toddlers at Flying Start @ Cmaborne have been enjoying their Cooking Club session this week, as they were busy making cheese straws!
They mixed up all the ingredients to make a dough, and then rolled out the dough using a rolling pin, and made them into straw shapes.
The staff helped to take them off to the oven… and of course once they had cooked and cooled, the children got to try them & take them home… Yummy!

Flying Start Nurseries Host Annual Training Day For Entire Company!
Flying Start Nurseries are proud to have hosted another amazing annual company training day, with over 120 staff attending, from all of our nurseries, in our 25th year of business!
It is a unique chance to bring all of our staff together to celebrate the achievements of the last year, and train them in new and specialist areas to improve & excel even more! The theme of this year’s training day was ‘Lifelong Learning with TLC’, and Flying Start were delighted to host the day at a new venue – at the cinema in Newquay!
We are also delighted to announce that at our company training day, we launched a new online training platform for all our staff, as part of the offer from our training company TLC.
Soon, we will be opening up this training platform to offer some courses to parents & the community too!
Thank you to all of our parents & families for your understanding with the one day nursery closure – it is such a valuable day for our company, and reinforces Flying Start’s mission of ‘lifelong learning’ – for the children, but also for our amazing staff!
Flying Start @ Camborne Take Part In Sport Relief!
The entire nursery at Flying Start @ Camborne have been supporting and taking part in Sport Relief… All the children and staff dressed in red or sports clothes for a day of sports & fun at nursery!
All the children kicked off the day with a yoga session with Ashley doing some great poses and having some calm down time, and concentrating really well…
Then the children heading outside to join in with some sports games, and an obstacle course!
And all of this sporty fun needed some fuel… so the pre-schoolers carefully chopped up lots of fruits and made a yummy healthy fruit salad for everybody to enjoy at snack time!
Amazing work, Camborne!
Flying Start @ Camborne Host Easter Egg Hunt In Tehidy Woods!
Flying Start @ Camborne staff, children, and families headed to Tehidy Woods on a Saturday for their annual nursery Easter Egg Hunt!
Despite the cold weather, they still all had lots of fun, jumped in muddy puddles, and found their easter eggs after lots of searching!
They finished off with a pasty to warm up. Great fun – thanks all who came!
Flying Start @ Camborne Pre-School Do Fruit Tasting!
The pre-school department all took a walk up to their nearby local supermarket to look at fruit… the children played a game to name all of the fruits they saw and looked at how many different colours they could find!
They looked for some fruits that some of the children hadn’t tasted or seen before, to buy & bring back to nursery to try out!
They tried raspberries, blueberries, plum, pomegranate and grapefruit (which was very sour!)!
They particularly enjoyed taking apart all of the seeds packed inside the pomegranate, and then using it for sensory play!
Great work discovering exciting new fruits!
Are you confused about whether you will qualify for 30 hours funding, or are childcare tax credits better for you ? Will the new tax-free childcare scheme be relevant ??
There are lots of new initiatives for getting free or funded childcare, but its confusing.
This Government website makes it easy to understand and tells you, what you are eligible for and what you need to know.
Flying Start will be running Parents Information Evenings soon too…..
