Flying Start @ Cornwall College Fly Into Space!
Pre-School have been learning about all the different planets in space. They have been whooshing around pretending to be planets then organising themselves to reflect the order they should be in the solar system.
We have also been making pictures of shooting stars by learning how to make different paint effects through marble rolling.
Flying Start @ Cornwall College Christmas ‘Best Bits’
This Christmas was amazing, we had a visit from Santa and even got to sit in his sleigh. He gave us all a lovely present which we were allowed to open straight away.
We really liked decorating our own Christmas table cloth and some of us drew trees, presents and even Christmas puddings.
Toddlers also invited all of our parents to come and join in with lots of festive games, including pass the parcel.
Flying Start Nurseries Are Now Closed For The Winter Holidays!
We would like to thank all our staff for such a fantastic year and thank our parents for all your support!
We hope you have a wonderful winter break together and look forward to more adventures in the New Year!
We will re-open on 2nd January and cant wait to hear about your times together!
Flying Start Get Festive!
Flying Start, Camborne have made decorations at nursery and with the residents at St Martins Residential Home. To put on our tree which has been displayed at Camborne Church at the Annual Christmas Tree Festival.
All of our nurseries have enjoyed wonderful food and party time together!
Flying Start, Helston been very lucky as some very kind parents have come in and read a story. The nursery gathered in the preschool room and sat beautifully whilst listening to a story about green eggs and ham, and another about stinky sprouts.
This week the children have been extremely excited to see Santa. They showed him their performance for Christmas singing Christmas carols and signing the Christmas story. Then they sat patiently and waited to receive their present. They were very excited to open the present.
We have also explored dough and using it to make some Christmas decorations, worn festive jumpers together and made a wonderful ‘box tree’ to support our plastic free campaign.
We’ve had such wonderful times together this month, thank you all for sharing and participating this festive season!
Flying Start @ Cornwall College Share Their Christmas Decorations With The Community!
We were very lucky to have been invited to display our children’s Christmas decorations, on one of the Christmas trees at Camborne Parish Church. There will be lots of time for you and your family to view these over the Christmas period.
Flying Start @ Cornwall College Play Tag Rugby!
The Pre-School children are participating in a Tag Rugby session each week with a member of staff who also coaches the Camborne mini league. They have great fun and are learning the discipline of the game.
Flying Start Nurseries Rhyme This Week!!
We’ve been singing lots of nursery rhymes that have lots of actions. We are able to pick out of our nursery rhyme bags. We also created a twinkle twinkle little star sensory tray which the children have loved exploring.
We made ‘Incy Wincy Spider’, a nice web to dangle from whilst singing.
We also filled a tubes with different sensory such as rice, spaghetti and lentils, and then decorated their instruments with paint. Then they joined in with nursery rhymes, experimenting with their instruments to see what different sounds they could make. The toddlers have also created a song bag for Baa Baa Black Sheep, and have enjoyed using it and singing along.
We have also been singing and acting out the song Miss Polly had a dolly, we used the phone to call for a Doctor
They also had a great time singing autumnal songs such as Autumn leaves are falling down and Throw your leaves in the air.
Flying Start @ Cornwall College Get Muddy!
This week at Forest school we have been using our bodies in different ways to manoeuvre through obstacles on the woodland floor. We found a really bouncy branch and all had a turn to see if we could balance and bounce at the same time.
There were also lots of shelters in the woods which we loved exploring and hiding away from each other.
Flying Start @ Cornwall College Make A Pudsey Bear!
Last week we supported children in need with our lets get spotty for Pudsey day, we all dressed up in spotty clothing and donated 1 & 2 pence pieces. We filled in a large drawing of Pudsey’s head, we had so many coins, we could have filled it 3 times over!! Thank you, for all your support!!

Flying Start @ Cornwall College Progress Through Healthy Under 5’s!
Shelley has been doing some fantastic work within our centre to create a ‘Healthy Under 5’s’ environment.
We have earnt 3 stickers and well on our way to achieving all 6. Please help us to achieve the ‘Physical Activity’ badge by providing us with appropriate outdoor clothing to make the most of the outside environment.
