Flying Start @ Duchy Get Energetic In The Sports Hall!
The preschool and toddler children have been enjoying frequent visits to the sports hall. They have been taking part in lots of different activities such as obstacle course and team work games.
Flying Start @ Saltash With Flora And Fauna!
At Saltash, the babies have been taking part in some physical play challenging our large motor skills alongside their Flora and Fauna theme. We have been climbing and balancing on logs.
In toddlers at Saltash we have been using different tools to paint a fun way to explore patterns and textures.
In pre-school at Saltash we have been taking part in some Yoga, we have really enjoyed learning the moves.
Flying Start @ Helston Celebrate Chinese New Year!
Helston have been celebrating Chinese New Year. Preschool enjoyed exploring a tuff tray containing coloured rice, metal heuristic, chop sticks and Chinese numbers.
Toddlers made drums out of paper plates and pasta which they decorated and babies made lanterns and decorated the first letter of their name in Chinese.
Flying Start @ Duchy And Child Mental Health Week!
For Children’s mental health week we have taken part in yoga in the garden, the children copied lots of different poses. We then lay on the floor with our eyes closed, practising breathing exercises and listening to all the sounds around them.
The preschool children have also been talking about what makes them happy. We also spoke about what we could do when we are sad that could make us happy again.

Flying Start @ Helston Enjoy Teatime In Space!
This term preschool are learning about space. They have a book that’s linked to their theme ‘Teatime in space’.
The children have enjoyed playing in the role-play area, making dinner and serving it to their friends. We have loved exploring the different dinner themed trays including shaving foam, hair gel, slime and water beads.
Flying Start @ Duchy Investigate Ice!
The Preschool and Toddler children have been investigating the ice in the garden. We used magnifying glasses to look at it, we dropped it on the floor to see what would happen and then felt it. We also experimented with putting the ice into water to see what would happen.
Flying Start @ Saltash Build A Castle!
Preschool have been constructing with a range of items this week cardboard tubes and straws. They built castles and robots by connecting the tubes together. They had to think carefully about how long they wanted the straw and which length tube to use.
We held a stay and play for Chinese new year where we made some Chinese lanterns and a Chinese dragon. Thank you to all the mummies and daddies who joined us.
Flying Start @ Duchy Get Rhyming!
The preschool children attended a rhyme time session at our local library. They enjoyed learning new songs, playing instruments and reading stories.
Flying Start @ Saltash Focus On Emotions!
Preschool have exploring their emotions. We looked at different pictures of children making different faces and talked about how they were feeling.
Each morning, we are asking the children how they are feeling, as part of our Pre-emotion training.
The children are building up new language and learning the effects of their own feelings and others.
