Flying Start Nurseries Home Learning Plan For Babies!

Flying Start Nurseries Home Learning Plan For Babies!

So many children have enjoyed the Bear Hunt plan that went out last week via EYLog.

We have seen some great evidence of children looking high and children looking low for hidden teddy bears, in their lounge, in their bathroom, in their garden and even out on a walk!

Great mathematical language and concept development focusing on: under, on top, behind, low, high, next to! And of course a LOT OF FUN was had chasing around trying to find the hidden bears!

Thankyou to all the parents who uploaded some fantastic photographs and videos of your little one’s learning at home!

Flying Start Families Feed The Birds!

Flying Start’s Learning @ Home: Making Bird Feeders!

Preschool children have been practicing their fine motor skills, threading hoop cereal onto string or pipe cleaners to make bird feeders…

Some children practiced their counting skills as they threaded each hoop, some made different shaped bird feeders, some identified the different shades of dark and light brown they could see in the hoops and some talked about who might want to nibble their bird feeder!

The whole family joined in here.. with a baby sister doing some fantastic threading…

Then on their daily walk the children hunted for the best place to hang the birdfeeder, some went high, some went low and some families left several in an experiment to see which was eaten first!

In the garden some children made a den and became bird watchers for a while, waiting and waiting to see who came for a little snack!

Flying Start @ College Have A Tiger Come To Tea!!

The children have loved playing with the role play kitchen and exploring tea time foods as a follow on from our Goldilocks and the Three Bears theme last half term, so our new story is The Tiger Who Came To Tea!

This week we have been exploring all things ‘TIGER!’.

The colours, the stripes, the animals, puppets and of course the mighty ROAR!

We have drawn, glued and painted our tiger faces already! We read the story every day learning about the tiger who came and ate everything in sight!

Flying Start @ Saltash Keep On Washing!

Flying Start @ Saltash Keep On Washing!

This week we have been focusing on hand washing and teaching the children how to wash their hands correctly. We have had circle times about germs and how to keep ourselves safe. We then moved on to a hand washing activity where we filled gloves with water and froze them and staff drew germs on for the children to wash off.

Flying Start @ Redruth Write To Friends!

In the light of the current situation with Corona virus, our pre School children have been drawing pictures and writing letters to the Elderly residents at local care homes.

We have spoken about people may feel worried and drew pictures they felt would cheer other people up. What a lovely thought!

If any children would like to draw a picture at home, we would happily post!

Flying Start @ Saltash Have Fun With Colours!

Toddlers took to the outdoors to use large painting rollers and brushes to paint their very own large tigers. We mixed our own orange and black powder paint and got all wrapped up in our winter suits. It was very windy but great fun, we made some amazing patterns!
