Flying Start @ Helston Explore Jupiter!
This week preschool have been exploring and learning about Jupiter! Using all sorts of different textures and techniques to create their own version of the planet! Making sure we were super careful when using sharp tools such as scissors!
They also took part in a gym club activity, showing each other how you would walk if you lived on Jupiter!
Flying Start Walk Around The World In……How Many Days?
Flying Start Are Going To Walk Around The World!It takes 20 million steps and we want to help our staff become more active so we are taking on the challenge… but the question is… how long will it take our staff teams, and how many times can we go around our world?! Your nursery team will be recording their steps, and children and parents will be encouraged in their own challenge! So how about parking your car a little further away and walking some extra steps to nursery, going out for a walk at the weekend, or even doing a teeth cleaning march! Lets all get fit this February and Walk Around The World!
Flying Start @ Duchy Delve Into Chinese New Year!
The whole nursery at Flying Start Duchy have been learning about Chinese New Year. The children have been reading stories as well as lots of arts and craft, dragon making and food tasting!

This term the babies are exploring the theme flora and fauna. As part of this they have been doing some yoga and basing the poses. They became tall trees, long logs and wild animals!

The babies have had lots of fun exploring their new winter sensory tray.

Flying Start @ Duchy Bring The Outdoors In!
The preschool children have been bringing the outdoors in! They have been making their own paintbrushes using sticks and leaves as well as exploring natural objects such as pine cones and the patterns that they make in play dough.
Flying Start @ Cornwall College Get Messy With Transport!
This new term the babies are focusing on transport.
They have been exploring the small world cars by rolling them through the paint to make marks on paper.
The older babies have been helping to mix their own paint and were really enjoyed watching as they rolled the cars along.

Today we made space boots for our role play area.
Flying Start @ Duchy Explore The Weather!
The children at Duchy have been exploring the outdoors and talking lots about the weather. They have created their own water shoot with lots of tubes and pipes to see how far they could get the water go.
This was very tricky and took lots of problem solving. Once built the children collected rainwater from the water butt and carried it very carefully to test their invention. They were very excited to see the water travelling down their construction and into the ‘big tyre!’

We’ve been digging jumping and building in the garden.
We’ve been finding new ways to transport water and finding objects that float!
We’ve been touching slime and talking about how it feels different to the water!
