Flying Start @ Duchy Look At Different Homes!
In the forest the children have been exploring different animal homes and learning how they are different compared to the homes we live in.
We went on an animal home hunt and found some rabbit, fox, badger and bird homes!
We then used clay and other natural objects to make out faces. The children really looked at what they were using for their eyes, nose and mouths.
Flying Start @ Saltash Have Been Working on Their Plastic Free Campaign!
Preschool have been working on their plastic free campaign and this week we formed a trash mob. We went around the nursery and the local community and picked up lots of litter, we had some special gloves to wear and some special litter picker sticks too!
Flying Start @ Helston Celebrate The Festival Of Light
Helston have been celebrating Diwali. The Pre-schoolers decorated a paper plate made them into a candle for the festival of lights. They have also been exploring coloured rice and Rangoli patterns, both in the rice and to colour in. The babies and toddlers made diva pots out of salt dough and clay, decorating them with glitter and brightly coloured paint.
Flying Start @ Duchy Have Been Painting Faces!!
As part of our ‘All about me theme.’ The children have been painting their own faces. They have been using lots of different skin colour paint to create their faces, they have also been using mirrors to look in to see what colours they need to use.

Flying Start @ Duchy Learn ‘All About Me!’
All About Me
The preschool department are starting a new theme of ‘All About Me!’ We took the opportunity to create ourselves! Firstly we had to draw around each other which was very tickly! We then used mirrors to check our features such as hair and eye colour to add to our pictures! We also made sure that we added clothes!
A great opportunity for lots of talk surrounding similarities and differences!

We held a scarecrow tea party to end our Harvest Festival celebrations!
We invited parents along and enjoyed a party snack with our very own scarecrow Manager………. Laura!!!!
Flying Start At Duchy Supported Mental Health Awareness Day!
To support mental health awareness day we all came to nursery dressed in our bright clothes. This promoted ‘Time to Shine!!!’ We spent the day doing lots of activities including play dough faces, calming yoga and lots of talk and art work around feelings and how to express them.

Preschool have been exploring transient art using a range of materials to build pictures of faces and their families at the park and swimming!!!
Flying Start @ Redruth Have A Scarecrow Tea Party!!!
We celebrated Harvest festival and the start of Autumn with a Scarecrows Tea Party.The children spent the last couple of weeks creating their own scarecrows at home and at nursery to decorate the nursery.
We made yummy snacks which included home made scones, bread and our own scarecrow pizza’s. We played scarecrow games and even enjoyed a scarecrow story.
