Pre School at Flying Start Camborne have been super busy being builders. We have been using our screwdrivers and hammers with our screws and nails. We’ve referred to our new book ‘The Three Little Pigs’ and talked about how secure our houses would be using the same tools.
Our Senior Manager, Chantelle Baron has taken delivery of the first 30 trees in our push to plant 200 trees and be carbon neutral under Scope 2 emissions of the GHG Protocol guidance. We are planting trees in the nursery gardens but need help to reach our target.
The first trees are a mixture of cherry, alder and silver birch and are free to staff and customers as long as you promise to plant one, tell us where it is and send us a photo of it planted !

Day Nursery have been creating festive sculptures using playdough, autumnal treasures & craft items. They created such a variety of things from reindeer & Christmas trees to cars & cakes! They were so engaged incorporating the different objects into the playdough.
Day nursery had a very Arty week & have created a large-scale piece of artwork every day! Creating their Art either indoors or outdoors they used different techniques & tools to create marks & experiment with colour. Creating the large artwork allowed the children to move around & create what they wanted freely without being restricted to the size of the paper or the space available in their environment!
Flying Start @ Saltash have been exploring!
We have been having lots of fun exploring our naturalistic environments. We particularly like to explore our baby garden. We now have a mini beast garden which the children enjoy getting dirty in whilst they find lots of treasures.

As part of Children’s Mental Health week we have been learning different ways to look after our bodies and minds.
Preschool @ Flying Start Cornwall College have been taking part in daily yoga sessions.
