Flying Start @ Saltash Toddlers Enjoy Gym Club On The Sports Field!

The toddlers at Flying Start @ Saltash have been wrapping up in their coats, and getting out in the fresh air, on the sports field!

They’ve been doing lots of fun physical activity including running. jumping, kicking the ball, and hoop games!

As well as being great fun, it is a great way for the children to practice and improve their coordination skills, and be physically active!

Flying Start @ Penryn Mark Remembrance Day With A Poppy Wreath

The pre-school children at Flying Start @ Penryn made a special poppy wreath to mark Remembrance Day!

 

The children spent a lot of time making their wreath look lovely, and chatted about how important it was to mark Remembrance Day!

The children then walked to the rugby club gate and placed their poppy wreath with the rest of the wreaths that had been left there.

Well done Penryn.

The toddlers at Flying Start @ Saltash have been exploring lots of autumnal activities, as their learning theme is Autumn this half term!

The children have been looking at all the changes with the leaves and the trees, and they collected items from the garden to add to their small world play!

They then used some of the leaves they found on a walk to do some beautiful leaf rubbings!

Flying Start @ Duchy Explore ‘Cat In The Hat’ Story!

The preschool children at Flying Start @ Duchy went on another of their exciting visits to the Old School Library and did some special activities which were all linked to the story Cat in the Hat!

Firstly, they sat and listened beautifully to the story which was read to them…

Then they had a go at making and decorating their very own hat!

Look how fantastic they look – and the children all got to take them home as well!

The preschool children then played a throwing game where they had to get the bean bags in the hole! The children then suggested that the grownups had a turn which brought lots of laughter!

Well done Duchy – another great trip within the local community, and a fantastic local partnership!

Flying Start @ Helston Learn About Bonfire Night!

The children at Flying Start @ Helston have been learning all about bonfire night… they’ve made amazing firework pictures using patterns and printing! They even added glitter, and they look fantastic!

They’ve also been speaking all about how we stay safe at bonfire night, and they’ve read lots of books on staying safe near fires.

Flying Start @ Penryn Have Halloween Stay & Play Party!

The staff at Flying Start @ Penryn threw a special stay & play party for their children and parents!

Lots and lots of parents and grandparents turned up to join in with the fun, which included: pumpkin carving, an arts and crafts table, slimy halloween sensory play, and bat caves!

 

Some of the children (and some of the staff) even put on their best halloween costumes… look how fantastic they look!

Then the children all sat down really nicely for some delicious Halloween snacks.

Some brave individuals even tried the ‘trick or treat’ cupcakes which had sweet or sour fillings!

Great Halloween fun had by all – well done Penryn team for hosting such a spooktacular event!

Flying Start @ Saltash & Duchy Join Together For Forest School Adventures!

Flying Start @ Saltash have been visiting the Flying Start @ Duchy nursery, who are on the beautiful Royal College campus with a huge forest… to join together for weekly Forest School sessions!

The children have really enjoyed making new friends, and going on lots of forest school adventures together…

One of their favourite activities has been using clay and natural resources to make faces!

The children all carefully selected which tree they were going to stick their clay on, then started to mould it…

They then found leaves, sticks and other natural items around the forest to create the features!

Fantastic work Saltash & Duchy!

Flying Start @ Duchy Enjoy Halloween With Pumpkin Fun!

Flying Start @ Duchy had great fun celebrating Halloween…

The children had a go at carving pumpkins, scooping out all of the insides, and creating faces on the front!

With the help of the staff, the children were all very careful and had a go, and then all helped to scoop out all the pumpkin goop inside!

Flying Start @ Helston hosted a special Halloween stay & play for their parents and grandparents to join in the fun!

The children enjoyed making different resources for the stay and play session, which was really well attended!

The children explored slime, gloop, and spiders – eek!  They especially enjoyed baking with their mummies, daddies, nannies and granddads!

A huge thank you to all the parents & grandparents who came to join in the spooky fun at the nursery!

Flying Start @ Helston Go On An Autumn Nature Walk!

All the children at Flying Start @ Helston have been getting out on lovely autumn walks to the local park!

At the park, they’ve been busy collecting bits and pieces of the nature around them as part of their theme this term, which is Autumn!

The children looked at all the lovely colours of the leaves, and tried to pick up some of the fallen leaves of each colour, as well as some sticks!

  

The children also really enjoyed running through the huge leaf piles and the sound it made as it crunched under their feet!
