Flying Start @ Helston Toddlers Make Ice Lollies And Keep Cool!
The toddler department at Flying Start @ Helston have been busy making their very own ice lollies to eat!
As the temperatures rise during summer, this is such a good way to stay cool, and have a delicious snack too!
The children all helped to chopped up the fruit and then placed them into the lolly moulds…
Once the fruit was in, they poured over orange juice and placed them in the freezer to set over night.
The children loved having them for snack the next day, such a healthy treat for all to enjoy!!

Flying Start @ Duchy Visit The Farm Animals On The College Campus!
The toddlers and preschoolers at Flying Start @ Duchy have been visiting their onsite animals on the Duchy College campus!
The children were really excited to see the lambs, and how they have grown since they last saw them!!
When they saw the chickens, some of the children were able to talk about their own chickens at home – and even share their names!
The children loved to see the rabbits and the guinea pigs, and how fluffy and cuddly they looked!

The toddlers at Flying Start @ Camborne have been having a hopping time with gym club in the garden with Lou!
The children have been jumping from circle to circle, practising their crouching down and jumping up, doing obstacle courses, and listening carefully to instructions!

Flying Start @ Helston Have Special Visitor From The Navy!
Flying Start @ Helston have had a special visitor… another one of their parents who has an exciting job, gave up their time to come and tell the children all about it!!
Joshua’s Dad is in the Navy, and he came into speak about what he does, and all the different jobs in the Navy.
His job is Air Craft Control which means he tells the planes if it is safe to fly, and where to go, and how to land safely! He brought in some photos of the different planes that are in the navy and the helicopters which are used for search and rescue.
For being so good and listening well, he brought a few items for the nursery to keep and for some of the children to take home including all the photos of the aeroplanes!!
A BIG thank you to Joshua’s dad for coming in and telling the children all about hisamazing job… they were fascinated & listened so carefully!

Flying Start @ Duchy Have Forest School Stay & Play With Parents!
Flying Start @ Duchy held a Forest School stay & play session for the parents and families to come along and see what adventures and learning they get up to in the forest!
Children of all ages attended with their parents, and they enjoyed lots of forest school activities!
The older children were definitely able to lead the way and show their parents what they do!
 
The children made magic potions…  one child called theirs a chocolate surprise!
They also made animal homes,
created bark rubbings and collected natural objects along the way.
    
A great adventure for all!

Using their fingers in damp sand, paint brushes in water, pencils, pens, sticks in the mud …. the possibilities are endless!

This week they have been practicing using buttons, to carefully line up and form letters from their names.

The toddlers at Flying Start @ Duchy have been exploring their superworm tuff spot using their new large magnifying glasses!
The children enjoyed looking through them and seeing what they could observe in the tuff spot which was full of soil, twigs and moss, and ‘super worms’ of course …
Whilst it was tricky at first, the children soon caught the hang of using the magnifying glasses, and were getting very excited by what they could find!
