Flying Start @ Illogan Explore Emotions

During Children’s Mental Health week, the toddlers at Flying Start Illogan engaged in various activities to explore emotions.

We crafted clay emotion faces in our garden using natural materials we had found, read a story emphasising the significance of understanding others emotions and participated in an outdoor spa experience and yoga session to help calm us down.

The Babies at Flying Start Camborne have been busy exploring music

They explored the sounds a range of instruments made before using our metal heuristic resources to create their very own loud instruments.

Flying Start @ Camborne Learn About The Farm

Toddlers at Flying Start Camborne have been super busy learning all about the farm and enjoying books to match the theme.

They have been creating their own farm animals during our Flora’s explorers sessions and exploring several sensory experiences to learn all about how the animals live such as chickens in a coop, pigs like mud and they even had a go at milking their very own cow.

Flying Start @ Camborne Play Football

We were so excited to have Coach James from Kixx Football to join us for a planned football session.

The Pre-School and Toddlers had so much fun pretending to be different animals whilst they practised so many ball skills such as balancing, kicking and throwing, as well as showing off their wonderful listening skills.

We will definitely be carrying out some of the fun games he taught us again soon.

Flying Start @ Illogan Create Autumn Art

The children at Flying Start Illogan have been exploring large art this week.

We used some lovely Autumnal colours and experimenting with different marks that different brushes make. We observed the changes as it rained onto our masterpiece and jumped in the colourful puddles it created!

Flying Start @ Illogan Remember!

Throughout this week, we have focused on the topic of Remembrance. The preschool children engaged in discussions about the medals awarded to soldiers and crafted their own, reflecting on their personal sources of pride. Meanwhile, the toddlers have been busy outdoors, using an array of materials to create their own purple and red poppies.

They also watched an insightful video that highlighted the significance of the poppy.

Some children decided it would be a wonderful idea to try and grow our own poppies so we have planted some seeds in our growing area.

Flying Start @ Illogan welcomed in parents/carers for a Halloween themed stay and play.

Together they made witches potions, printed pumpkins using apples and made playdough spiders. Everyone then sat down for a delicious party food lunch.
