Creating art can be enjoyed by the whole community, and the pre-schoolers at Flying Start @ Camborne took their ‘transient art’ materials their local residential home to share the fun!
 
The pre-schoolers have been exploring transient art using a variety of loose parts to create their masterpieces on mirrors and frames!

 
At St.Martins Residential Home, they shared the fun with the residents, and made some arty creations together!
How lovely to see everyone getting involved with transient art!

Flying Start @ Camborne Celebrate Their Pre-School Graduation!
 
It has been a special milestone at Flying Start @ Camborne, with a graduation ceremony for the pre-school children!
  
All of the pre-school children who are off to big school in September were invited to graduate and have a big party with their families and nursery friends in the garden!
 
The children dressed in their Graduation Gown and received a medal and certificate from their key-worker, with lots of clapping and cheering!
 
Afterwards, everyone enjoyed some party food and music and watched a slideshow of photos of the children’s fun times over the years at nursery, some going all the way back to the baby department!
 
A huge thank you to all the parents and family members that joined Flying Start @ Camborne for this special day and a big good luck to all of the pre-school children heading onto their next chapter!

Flying Start @ Camborne Toddlers Do Some Gardening!

 

 

This week, the toddlers have been enjoying the summer weather and getting out in the nursery garden to do some gardening!

 

 

 

The children helped to water all of the plants in the growing area, to give them a drink!

 

 

 

 

They talked about the different flowers and vegetables that are growing, naming them and looking closely at them…

 

 

 

…and thinking about what they need to grow well!

Flying Start @ Camborne held their annual sports morning in the nursery garden!
 
They had an amazing turnout of parents, grandparents and other family members, who came to cheer on the children!
 
The children took part in running, jumping, throwing and the classic egg and spoon race… all the children have been practicing for weeks and did a great job!
 
Then of course it was time for the most competitive event of the day… the parents race, where they could even win a trophy!
 
Each child had a medal for there efforts which they proudly
wore for the rest of the day!
 
A huge thank you to all family members that came to support the children & made it such a great day, and a big well done to the Camborne Nursery team for such a brilliant sports day event!

Flying Start @ Camborne pre-school department have embarked on a very exciting challenge… ’30 Days of Wild’!
 
The children have kicked off the 30 days by doing lots of outdoor activities… they have been going on bug hunts…
…looking for clouds and talking about their shapes…
…making a nature showcase table…
…and walking through mud and talking about what it feels like!
 
They will be continuing this all the way through June, with lots more wild and wonderful outdoor experiences and activities to come!

Flying Start @ Camborne Create Natural Object Pictures!

The pre-school department at Flying Start @ Camborne have been all doing a take-home activity this half term… the challenge was to collect a small bag of natural items from the woods, the beach, the garden, or even on the walk to nursery and back, to bring in!

The children then used these natural objects they had collected to make some beautiful pictures to display at nursery!

 

A huge thank you to all of the parents and families that have collected items with their child and sent them into nursery… the children were very excited to show & tell what they had found, and then turn it into art!

Flying Start @ Camborne Mark Mental Health Awareness Week!

As it was Mental Health Awareness Week across the country, Flying Start @ Camborne decided to do some activities to mark this week with their pre-school children!

 

The children looked at themselves in the mirror and focuses on different expressions, and talked about whether they were feeling happy or sad…

Then they drew a self-portrait of their faces, and added expressions to show how they might be feeling. They also talked about what might make them happy or sad, and used the emotion pebbles to identify a wider range of feelings!

The staff then took their work and made it all into a brilliant awareness display on the pre-school room door!

The pre-school children at Flying Start @ Camborne enjoyed their weekly visit to their local residential home!
 
On this visit, the children painted pictures with the residents!
The residents were delighted to see the children as always, and some even decided to pick up a paintbrush themselves…
 
One pre-schooler helped one of the residents to paint a picture by holding the paper for them and adding paint to the paintbrush for them…
…how lovely to see such thoughtful teamwork!

This is a national document that all businesses are being invited to sign, and it shows a company’s commitment to mental health awareness, and creating a mentally healthy workplace.
