Flying Start Funclub @ Camborne’s Junk Modelling Mum!

Flying Start @ Camborne’s after school club were getting very focused on their junk modelling, when one of their Mum’s came to collect, instead of disrupting the creative flow … she joined in!

Even when her son had finished his model and moved on to something out, she stayed to complete her junk modelling master piece!

And then had a moment of reminiscing when peeling the PVA glue off her hands at the end of the session… ‘just like being back in school!’

What could you join in with that you used to do at school?

Baking? Sports? Recorder Club? …COME AND SHARE YOUR SKILLS!

Flying Start @ Camborne Lay Roads In Their Roleplay!

Flying Start @ Camborne watch, hear and smell the road laying right outside the nursery…

The children could smell tarmac, and could hear very noisy machines so peeped over the garden wall

and saw some very kind work men, who explained how the different tools worked to clean the road of old concrete, and then lay the new tarmac.

The children hunted around the garden and shed and found lots of resources to copy what they were observing.

They then had lots of explorative play being builders, and making lots of loud noises with their equipment they pretend were large pneumatic drills!

Flying Start @ Camborne Play Policemen and Policewomen!

Flying Start @ Camborne have a new ‘Police’ role play!

The children are using props to promote their imaginative play, all with a police theme. Through this play they are learning about people who help us, the uniform the police wear through their dressing up, and also challenging negative behaviour or concepts through their ‘good policeman role’!

Answering 999 calls, offering their services and taking statements all fall into daily duties!

Hopefully a visit from a police car or to the police station will take place in this half term, if you and your child see any policemen or women or cars out and about take a photo and email it to cambornefs@hotmail.co.uk for them to add to the role-play!

Mark Peters, Managing Director of Pirate FM said:

‘Every single person that donated, every single business that hosted a collection box and everyone else that enabled this to happen should also feel very proud of what has been the most successful toy appeal I have seen in 18 years of commercial radio.  Thank you!”

Flying Start & Pirate Fm Working Together for the South West Children’s Hospice!

Flying Start Nurseries are working alongside Pirate Fm in the Toy Appeal!

All nurseries have a big black Pirate Fm Box in their entrance, and are encouraging children, parents, staff and families to provide a new toy for a Christmas present for a child at the South West Children’s Hospice this Christmas!

A book, pencils, jigsaw puzzle, toy car… ANYTHING! As long as it is new so that everyone can be assured they are clean and safe for the children.

Think of it as a small donation, but take your child shopping with you and explain the special act of kindness they are doing… helping to provide a magical Christmas to a child who is poorly and in the hospice over Christmas! They can even wrap it up and write a little label or card!

Please get on board in helping all Children regardless of circumstance and health have a magical Christmas!
