Flying Start @ Camborne – Babies Bake

Babies @ Flying Start Camborne have had fun this week making their own biscuits to enjoy at snack times. They got to feel what each ingredient felt like, enjoying the sensory experience before moulding it into a dough and forming their biscuits.

They were a lovely Friday afternoon treat for snack.

Flying Start @ Camborne Explore Autumn

Pre-School @ Flying Start Camborne have been exploring Autumn. With the season changing, we have been speaking about the process and the changes that we will see. Both inside and outside of our environments we have been looking and using various resources within our learning. We explored the textures of materials and as a group created our own masterpieces.

Flying Start @ Camborne Families

Pre-School at Flying Start Camborne have been focusing all about their families. We spoke about how they are shaped and the sizes of our families, introducing new words and speaking to each other. We created our own houses with various resources and added in our family members to make our homes complete. This was a great way to get to know each other.

Flying Start @ Camborne Blackberry Picking

The babies have discovered our blackberry bush!

They had so much fun feeling the textures, picking the blackberries themselves and then having a delicious snack.

We can not wait for more to be ripe so we can use them in some cooking.

Flying Start @ Camborne – The Tiger Who Came to Tea

Pre-School at Flying Start Camborne have been exploring their new book ‘The Tiger Who Came to Tea’. We used various materials to explore textures, we followed the story as a group and spoke about the characters. We introduced new words from the book, using them through our play.  This was a great activity to introduce our new focus of families.

Flying Start @ Camborne Large Art

Pre-School at Flying Start Camborne have been getting creative outside. We completed a HUGE painting in our outdoor environment as this is our favourite place to be. We explored what happened when mixing colours together and linked those colours to our emotions. We spoke about the colours we were using/making and how it made us feel. We engaged with one another to take a minute and speak about how each of us saw the colours and how they made us feel.

Flying Start @ Camborne Sensory Play

The Day Nursery @ Flying Start Camborne have been very interested in filling and emptying pots and containers recently.

We continued to follow this interest for their sensory play. There was lots of fine motor skill practice to get the oats in the jugs, using their hands, spoon, or scoops. The children chose to add flowers and have started to perfect pinching small amounts of petals off at a time.

Flying Start @ Camborne Make Potions

Pre-School at Flying Start Camborne have been making their own creations this week at our potion making station. We added in items that made it smell, look and feel different. We used our senses to explore these and describe to each other what it was like. Adding in different items from our garden too, we were able to explore our natural world alongside.

Flying Start @ Camborne Make Bread

The Day Nursery children @ Flying Start Camborne have been busy making their very own bread.

They have been exploring with different flavours, but blueberry seems to be a firm favourite. The children have been practising their fine motor skills, practising selecting just one berry at a time. The bread tastes delicious and the nursery smells wonderful too!

Flying Start Camborne Graduation

The Pre-School at Camborne recently celebrated their graduation. We enjoyed our own picnics and some yummy treats. We wish all our school leavers the best of luck on their new adventure and know they will do great! Well done on your Flying Start to a lifelong learning!
