Flying Start Saltash Get Excited About Autumn!

Toddlers have been reading the story ‘Hedgehugs!’

They have explored leaves, pine cones and twigs naming the colours and exploring the sizes in the sensory tray. We then painted pictures with Autumn colours to decorate the room.

 

 

We had a visit from Diddy dance company who gave the preschool/toddlers the opportunity to join in with a dance and singing session using a range of dance materials

and even some singing in French.

The Pre-Schoolers have been watching the birds in the garden nibble on the apples on the apple tree and decided they would like to feed the birds so we searched what the birds would like to eat and made some feeders for them. We cant wait to see the birds enjoying them in the garden.

Flying Start @ Saltash With Heuristic Play

The babies have been exploring their new black and white area with lots of loose end and heuristic parts to play with.

They have been exploring putting hoops onto tree mugs and exploring different size tubes as well as what it sounds like hitting wooden heuristic against metal.

 

Flying Start @ Helston Make Treasure Boxes!

The Pre-schooler’s sat down and wrote their very own story about a magical mermaid. Each child used their imagination to each add a couple of lines to the story.

They spoke about what she looked like, where she lived and most importantly the special things she kept in her treasure chest.

The children then had a go at making their own treasure chests using junk modelling and lots of different things to decorate them with such as buttons, sequins, pipe cleaners and tissue paper. After they were all done, we spoke about what we would put into our treasure boxes.

It all felt very magical, just like the Mermaid!

Flying Start @ Saltash Enjoy A Busy Sports Day!

Firstly THANK YOU to all who attended! What a fabulous turnout.

We all took part in egg and spoon races, sack races and an obstacle course, including the Mummy’s and Daddy’s!

We then had a big healthy fruit salad for snack and lots of water.

Flying Start @ Duchy Continue Their Gardening Project!

We have been doing lots of planting at Duchy this week as we continue to overhaul our garden.

We planted lots of different herbs that the children learnt the names of and were able to smell each one before planting them.

We also planted some different flowers and carefully watered them.

We will now look after them, keeping them watered to help them grow.

This will provide lots of opportunity for measuring, counting and size comparison, we well as a lovely fresh smelling garden!
