Flying Start @ Duchy Pre-School Learn Spanish!
Flying Start @ Duchy were delighted to welcome back a former parent, who runs ‘Little Spanish Stars’ into the nursery to teach the pre-school children some basic Spanish!
She started off by saying hello in Spanish and getting the children to copy her… They then moved on to sing action songs and she sang along and encouraged the children to join in with her!
They did lots of different action songs, dancing with their scarves and having lots of fun!
Once they had finished the songs they sat down to listen to a story in Spanish…
By the end of the session, the children could all say hello, goodbye, thank you and name their head, shoulders, knee, toes, eyes, ears, mouth and nose- wow!
Great work pre-schoolers, and a huge thank you to Spanish Little Stars!

Flying Start @ Helston Pre-School Explore Beach Theme!
The pre-school department at Flying Start @ Helston are exploring their new seaside theme!
The children went on a trip to the local library and were helped by the librarian to pick story books for their new beach theme!
The children have been getting stuck into the stories, especially the ones about pirates!
In the pirate story, the children got the idea to dig for buried treasure..
…and so the staff hid numbers in the sand pit…
…and the pre-schoolers were very excited to dig away and then count, name, and order the numbers!
Flying Start @ Saltash Explore Water Play!
The children at Flying Start @ Saltash have been staying cool in the recent hot weather, by doing lots of splashing in the water trays!
The staff made the water trays a great spot for exploring by adding syringes and funnels to use!
The children had great fun working out how to fill the syringes right up with water, squeezing hard, and watching all the water spout out!
The children used the funnels to help the water flow along the tubes, and out of the other end, creating their own waterworks!
Great play and exploring… and all in cool refreshing water too!
Flying Start @ Duchy Have Fun In The Nursery Garden!
Flying Start @ Duchy have been making the most of the lovely weather exploring the garden and doing lots of learning outdoors!

They have also been exploring what happens when you put a ball down a pipe and how the pipe might need to be changed to make sure the ball rolls out of the end…
And they’ve been exploring sand and water in the garden too!
