Flying Start @ Helston Toddlers Make Potions!

 

The toddler department at Flying Start @ Helston have a new exploration area, which is a ‘Magician’s Kitchen’!

 

The staff laid out a huge array of exciting ingredients for the toddler wizards to get stuck into…

 

 

They chose their selected ingredients, and put them into their potions…

 

 

 

And then whisked and stirred them all up, with lots of magic happening!

 

 

 

They even bottled some to play with in their sensory area…

 

 

Great work, wizards!

Flying Start @ Penryn Celebrate The World Cup By Exploring Sweden!

World Cup fever… to join in with the World Cup fun, each of our nurseries have been given a country from the final 8 football teams in a Flying Start sweepstake, to explore the food and culture of!

Flying Start @ Penryn were given Sweden in the world cup draw… They had a Swedish food tasting session of Swedish meatballs, and apple and cinnamon strudel!

The children also came into nursery in their sports kit and played a penalty shootout in the nursery garden! They split into two teams: England and Sweden, and tallied the scores on the wall!

They also painted the Swedish football kit onto huge pieces of paper – demonstrating great teamwork!

What great fun – well done Penryn!

Flying Start @ Saltash Explore New Garden Equipment!

The children at Flying Start @ Saltash have been loving their outdoor play, in the wonderful summer weather… And even more so, as they get to explore their exciting new garden equipment!

They’ve had great fun climbing and balancing on their new wooden apparatus…

And have been cooling off with some great water play, splashing around with their tunnels & waterways system!

Flying Start @ Saltash Pre-Schoolers Do A Car Wash!

The pre-schoolers at Flying Start @ Saltash have been enjoying the beautiful sunshine by being outdoors lots… and linking with their transport theme, they had a car wash in the garden!

The children got big sponges, and buckets full of bubbles, and washed down all of their cars and trikes in the garden! They had great fun getting super soapy…

Then they event went and washed the nursery mini bus!

The staff got stuck in washing the high bits…

…and the pre-schoolers had lots of fun splashing and sploshing, and joining in with their sponges!

Amazing job Saltash running your very own car wash!

Flying Start @ Duchy Do Cooking Club With Their Home Grown Herbs!

The pre-school and toddler children at Flying Start @ Duchy have been joining in with a weekly cooking club at nursery… and even more excitingly, they’ve been using the herbs that they grew themselves in their cooking!

The children had planted their own basil and coriander and then looked after it until it grew enough for them to use for cooking! Look how proud they are of their flourishing herbs!

The children then had a great time making tomato spirals where they had to spread their own tomato puree on the pastry…

…then add cheese and then their very own basil.

The children then carefully rolled up the pastry ready to be baked in the oven, which the staff took off to the kitchen for them…

… Once cooked the children enjoyed the spirals for a special afternoon snack – delicious!
