Flying Start @ Saltash Celebrate Graduation!
The children enjoyed a socially distanced graduation in their own bubbles. They had a picnic with their families before receiving medals, certificates, and gifts.

Flying Start @ Saltash Get Planting!
Babies and toddlers have been playing outside as the weather has been so great this week. They have been drawing with chalks, risk management with using the steps on the slide and busy doing some more planting in their soon to be vegetable/herb patch.
Preschool have been practising their shapes and numbers making craft pizzas. They had to name the shapes they put on and count their shapes. They had great fun.
Flying Start @ Saltash Make A Story With Toys!!
Baby staff have created some laminated wipe-able books linked to their theme. The children have been looking at them and seeing the story out in the room.
Flying Start @ Duchy Doing A Balancing Act!!
Babies, toddlers and preschool have been exploring risky play in the garden this week, both rooms have been using tires and planks to make their own climbing frames and then using them to climb and balance.
Flying Start @ Saltash Hunt For Bugs!
Preschool children have been planting new plants making a sensory area in their garden including lavender and growing runner beans and other flowers. The children enjoyed putting the compost into the tyres, planting the plants, and then using their watering cans to water them daily.
Later in the week preschool did a bug hunt where we found ants, woodlouse, spiders, and a beetle. We took them inside and through magnifying glasses and different pieces of our scavenge/bug hunt kit. We then let them go back into the garden and made our own mini beasts from clay and sticks and leaves to take home.
Flying Start @ Duchy Explore Textures!
This week the Baby and Toddler department at Duchy have been exploring different textures outdoors. They have been painting different items in the garden using their own bubbly water, they have also been using the water to put down the new water run in the garden! They have explored oats and what happens when the oats get wet!
In the forest we have been exploring what we could find and then what it feels like! We had and a go at bark rubbing using paper and pencils.
Flying Start @ Duchy Reach Great heights!!
The baby’s and toddlers have been practising their climbing and balancing in the garden. They have been using the climbing frame to go up and down the steps and walk across the planks from one side to the other. They felt so proud of themselves once they reached the end!!!
Flying Start @ Duchy Get Physical!
The preschool children have been having lots of discussion around physical exercise, healthy eating and how they can make their hearts race faster! Here the preschool children are having a race on the field before then feeling their hearts to feel the changes!
Flying Start @ Duchy Have Been Water Painting!!!!!!
The babies have been exploring mark making with water in the garden! They used various materials to mark make with, everything we used made a different mark!!!
