Flying Start @ Saltash Do Some Baking!
The toddlers at Flying Start @ Saltash have been baking some buns…
After washing their hands, they added the ingredients in order, and then they all had a go at mixing the bun mixture!
Once the buns were cooked by the staff, and had cooled, the children had great fun decorating their buns…
Great teamwork, Saltash!

Flying Start @ Saltash Enjoy Forest School!
The pre-schoolers at Flying Start @ Saltash went for their first outing in Forest School this week!
The children and staff all put their wet weather clothes and reflective vests on and went for a walk into the forest, where they sat on the logs and enjoyed some hot chocolate to warm them up!
Then they went off to explore… They stamped in the leaves, and looked at all the colours they could see in the trees around them! They found lots of chestnuts in the forest, did some bark rubbings, and even climbed some of the trees!
Great fun had by all!
Flying Start @ Duchy Babies Explore The Weather Changes!
Now that the weather is changing for winter, the babies at Flying Start @ Duchy have been out and about exploring the changes on walks around campus!
They have been getting dressed up in their wellies and all-in-one waterproof suits, and going out for walks to kick their feet through the fallen leaves and splash through muddy puddles… The babies listened to the noise that the leaves made when they walked through them and they loved splashing in the water making the water go everywhere!
Flying Start @ Saltash Have Pumpkin Fun For Halloween!
The children at Flying Start @ Saltash celebrated Halloween by carving some pumpkins – the children helped the staff to scoop out all of the insides of the pumpkins, and all the seeds inside!
The children counted all the pips, and discussed the gooey slimey texture of the insides of the pumpkins, before helping to draw funny faces onto the pumpkin skin!

Flying Start @ Helston Celebrate Halloween & Diwali!
The Pre-schoolers at Flying Start @ Helston have been doing some exciting activities to celebrate Halloween and Diwali…
For Halloween, the children helped the staff to carve pumpkins and then decorated their room with Halloween themed decorations! They got stuck in helping to remove all the seeds and insides of the pumpkins, and drawing funny faces on them!
For Diwali, the children made orange lanterns – carefully cutting, folding and sticking their card to make the lanterns! They learned all about the festival, and how it is known as a festival of light.

Flying Start @ Duchy Toddlers Make Forest Art!
Flying Start @ Duchy have been getting out and about in the forest… this week the toddlers wrapped up in their waterproofs and went on a walk to the forest!
While they were there they did some singing and dancing activities which were lots of fun, as well as collecting lots of materials to use for their artwork on returning to nursery…
When the toddlers got back to nursery, they used paper plates and double sided sticky tape to create their Forest Pictures – using the treasure they had collected!
Look at the concentration, and those wonderful pictures – great work!
Flying Start @ Helston Babies Care For Their Baby Dolls!
The babies at Flying Start @ Helston have been caring for their baby dolls, and thinking all about health and self-care too!
The babies have enjoyed washing the baby dolls and dressing them, and then cuddling them – look how caring they are being!
Flying Start @ Duchy Pre-School Visit The Forest!
Flying Start @ Duchy pre-schoolers have been wrapping up and getting out in the forest… The children put on their wellies and waterproofs and spent time exploring the forest now the leaves have fallen!
The children took the opportunity to collect lots of the different leaves that they could find to bring back to nursery…
They also collected together sticks and materials and built a den in the forest!
Once back at nursery the children painted the leaves and created lovely artistic prints with them – look at the careful concentration!
