Flying Start @ Marjon Make Tea!

Within our toddler department we are currently reading the story the tiger that came to tea. This week our children have been practicing making fruit tea. We tried all the different flavours and liked the raspberry flavour the best. Next week we are going to try fruit tasting so we can decide whether we like the tea or the real fruit best.

In the forest hut we have been thinking about what is meant by a pattern. We have used transient art to help secure this skill.

Flying Start @ Marjon Get Fundraising!

Flying Start @ Marjon Get Fundraising!

Over the last month or so Flying Start at Marjon’s have been fundraising for the bush fires and the animals effected by this tragedy.

We have completed a raffle (thank you to those that donated a prize!), name the teddy, guess how many sweets in the jar. And then we had a very successful quiz night.

In total we have raised a huge £350 for this cause. Money that is so dearly needed and will make such a huge difference.

Thank you for all that have donated. And a very special thank you to Sarah Lazarous Foster and Cheryl Brazier for organising all of these events.

The babies decorated heart shaped biscuits, and did Hapa Zome activities using rose petals!

Toddlers and preschool did heart shaped fruit printing and threaded cheerios onto heart shaped pipe cleaners. Parents and children all loved learning how to make smores together using tin fire cooking! After all the fun, everyone came together to sing songs about love and friendship with a kind parent who brought in his guitar so he could sing to us.

We have enjoyed reading our story ‘The tiger who came to tea’ and discussed that the family went to the shop in the story. So, they went for their own walk to the shop and used some money to pay for their apple. They were so excited to pay for their own apples.

Flying Start @ Marjon Go Bird Watching!

This week we have been bird watching as part of our forest school. We completed a data grid to identify the birds we saw. When the weather was bad we had to use our problem solving skills to be able to see further. We needed to be higher as lots of the birds were flying low.
