Flying Start @ Marjon On The Forensics Course
Marjon’s forensic course has been exploring burn patterns etc for their course. They do this by lighting a controlled fire in a storage unit in a car park. Again this year they invited us to go and watch. Some of our children went over talking about how to keep themselves safe and what to do in the event of a fire.

As we explore seasons and festivals with our baby department the children have loved using their whole bodies to explore the paint.

Our children have been using both the indoor and outdoor environments to extend their imaginative play.
The children have been excited to use Play dough to to represent familiar objects such as food, then role played feeding their peers.

To celebrate and encourage a lifelong love of books and reading at home and nursery, we held a sponsored listen week commencing 30th September.
We have teamed up with Usborne books to enable us to buy some new, interesting, books.
We had great fun reading all our favourite books and also some new ones that we hadn’t read before.
Flying Start @ Marjon Celebrate Diwali
Today we have been celebrating the festival of Diwali. We read a story about Rama and Sita and how they were saved in order to stay together. We learnt that lights we put in peoples windows to guide them home. This is why it is called a festival of Light. We then learnt that this was then extended to making Rangoli pictures and displaying in their doorways for good luck. Showcasing good over evil.
Therefore we made our own Rangoli pictures today.
Flying Start @ Marjon Make Healthy Snacks!!
This week we made our own healthy ice lollies, using sugar free orange squash and melon.
We practised our cutting skills by cutting up the melon into small pieces and then placing them into ice lolly moulds and cups.
These where then put into the freezer and we tried them for snack in the afternoon. They were very yummy!
Flying Start @ Marjon Have A Baby Forest School!!!!
Our baby department have been getting out to our local forest to explore the environments as it changes with the season.
We looked closely at the leaves and their colour and texture.
Flying Start @ Marjon Explore Haba Zome!
As part of a transition day from Toddlers to Pre-school, the Toddler children enjoyed using the Haba Zome area.
They hit the petals of flowers through materials to make a dyed stain resulting in our wonderful pictures.
Flying Start @ Marjon Sail Away!
Following on from our beach theme we made boats. We used loose parts to create the desired outcome and then took them into the garden so we could role play.
We had great fun.
Flying Start @ Marjon Painting In The Garden!
The Toddlers have been exploring large art in the garden this week.
They have been using a variety of resources and colours to create their own large pictures in the garden.
Helping to develop their control of fine motor and large motor skills as well as developing their moving and handling skills whilst having lots of messy fun!
