This week in Marjon Forest hut, the children have been exploring large scale transient art. The children have been working together and learning how to share and follow patterns to create art work similar to the artist Andy Goldsworthy using photos for refence.
This week at Marjon the babies have been exploring the mud kitchen, they have been mixing and adding herbs to mud and water to create some lovely mud pies. Yummy!
This week in the forest @ Flying Start Marjon we have been climbing trees, painting with Autumn objects like pinecones, leaves, acorns and sticks. We have also been painting using cling film as our canvas and we have created so many different patterns. We have really been working on our fine and gross motor skills.
This week the toddlers have been exploring dinosaur bones in sand using brushes and magnifying glasses to locate them.
This week, the Toddlers have been making bubbles using a different material. The purpose of this activity was to support our early communication skills, developing mouth movements to support later articulation.
Our baby department @ Flying Start Marjon have been practicing their physical skills using the apparatus in the garden. We have been climbing, crawling, crouching, and jumping! All while having great fun.
The toddlers @ Flying Start Marjon have been creating pictures by blowing bubbles and paint around the page. They have enjoyed discovering the different ways that they can manipulate paint to create their own pictures.
This week @ Flying Start Marjon the children have been talking about how cold it is outside and we talked about if it got any colder that it might snow, so with that the children collected different loose parts and created a beautiful snowman. They worked together learning to share, take turns, and how to listen to one another.
As our love of reading continues, we have been making up our own stories. These stories we have then been acting out and re-telling on our stage outside.
Whilst this has been initiated by the staff the children are now making up their own stories independently.
This week the toddlers @ Flying Start Marjon have been exploring sensory spaghetti! They used tweezers to pick up and move the spaghetti worms, and learnt lots of new describing words while playing.
