The Preschool children at Flying Start Redruth had a delightful time during their Christmas-themed stay and play session!
We indulged in plenty of festive activities, such as decorating biscuits, exploring melted snowman gloop, and crafting playdough snowmen! A big thank you to everyone who joined us.
Our Day Nursery children at Redruth have been busy exploring their new theme – All About Me – alongside the lovely story “The Giraffe Who Found Its Spots.”
They’ve been welcoming new friends, learning to share and take turns, and diving into lots of sensory play. The animal-themed trays have been a huge hit – especially the sand tray!
The Preschool children @ Flying Start Redruth had a wonderful trip to the park!
The children were fantastic on the walk there and back, holding their friend’s hand and practising their road safety skills along the way. Once at the park, we had so much fun.
A BIG WELL DONE to our keen gardener from Flying Start Redruth who grew the tallest sunflower measured in our competition!
At a huge 1.2m we are very impressed with the care and attention he took to help his sunflower bloom!
A prize is in the post to him as a Flying Start well done!
The children at Flying Start Redruth have been busy looking after their very own sunflowers as part of our growing competition – and we’re so proud of how much care they’ve put in!
They’ve loved planting the seeds, watering them, and watching them grow bigger each week. Along the way, they’ve learnt all about what sunflowers need to grow – sunshine, water, and a little bit of patience!

The Preschool children at Flying Start Redruth have started their new theme of Minibeasts.
This week they have been focusing on butterflies. They have learnt about the lifecycle of a butterfly when reading the Hungry Caterpillar and represented the different stages through movement in the garden.
The children have also been learning about symmetry and pattern when painting their own butterflies.
The Day Nursery children @ Flying Start Redruth have had great fun making a nursery beach in the baby forest! We explored seaweed and shells in the sand and water. We read Sharing a Shell and talked about sharing with our friends.
