Flying Start @ Redruth Get A Bit Muddy!

Flying Start @ Redruth Get A Bit Muddy!

The Toddlers in the Pre school department have been gardening. One of our plants that started off so small was big enough to move to its new home. The children worked together to dig the plant up and place in a wheelbarrow, before filling a large tyre with compost for its new home. What brilliant messy teamwork.

Flying Start @ Redruth Celebrate Diwali!

The toddlers have created some amazing Rangoli artwork to celebrate Diwali! Before the activity, they looked at some black and white Rangoli patterns then made their own outside on the floor. They found some natural items from around the garden to mark make with and experimented with different ways to make the patterns.

Flying Start @ Redruth Look At The Jobs List!

Flying Start @ Redruth Look At The Jobs List!

Pre school have been spending their teaching time learning about the different jobs within the community and the jobs of their parents and carers.

They have been busy discussing jobs types exploring different small world figures and transport to support their thinking.

Then they had a go themselves taking in the different jobs of their choice.

They have been busy being a chef, remembering to wash their hands first. They even made their very own chef hats.

They have been busy builders using wet sand and water as  their cement.

Pre school have been creating their very own mini beasts. They have been on lots of mini beast hunts recently using some information sheets to distinguish what we had found.

They found their own resources around the garden to create mini beasts of their choices, some were scary, some we kind and some were super fast.

Flying Start Have Been Celebrating World Mental Health Days In The Happiest Of Ways!

We have been celebrating World Mental Health Day. Preschool have been talking about things that are yellow and how they make us feel. “The sunshine makes us feel warm”. Then they did some gluing and sticking, and enjoyed a yellow snack and lunch. Day nursery also enjoyed eating their yellow foods, and speaking about their emotions. They then made faces out of yellow tissue paper.

Pre-School have been harvesting again!

They have become very involved in foraging for their snack and this is was one of this weeks harvests, our own baby spring onions, peas and blackberries. It has helped us learn that we always check with an adult when picking anything in the garden to ensure it is safe. We have also learnt which plants have prickles so we must be extra careful when harvesting.

Day Nursery have had their chef hats on & made pumpkin and carrot soup for the whole nursery! One of our toddlers has been very busy growing pumpkins & carrots at home so they kindly bought some in for us to explore. The toddlers had lots of fun exploring the pumpkin before they scooped out the seeds & chopped it up. Our cook then kindly watched it boil & blitzed it up for us all to have for snack!
