Flying Start @ Redruth Squash and Squeeze!
Pre School have been reading the story of a Squash and a Squeeze. Here they have been predicting which items they would be able to squash in their hand or squeeze between their fingers, developing their strength for writing skills.
It was so much fun predicting and then finding out if we were right or wrong. We decided the peas were the most fun to squeeze but we felt very string squashing the rubber ducks!
Flying Start @ Redruth Think Of Each Other!
The holiday club children have very kindly made our pre-school children a book all about school! This year’s school transition has been very different from previous years so we are being mindful & aware that our children may be feeling anxious, scared & nervous. The holiday club made a page each about their favourite things about school! We have shared this book with our pre-schoolers and they were very excited about fish & chip Fridays, play time and having lots of new toys & friends.
Flying Start @ Redruth Become Florists!!
Day nursery have been collecting flowers & leaves from around the garden then creating their own flower arrangements. They even had a go at threading using twigs!
Flying Start @ Redruth’s Holiday Club!!!
Holiday club have settled into holiday club with lots of great activities. Cooking and woodwork has been some of their favourites. They have been so creative, making self portraits and even dogs with the woodwork tools.
Flying Start @ Redruth Harvest Lunch!!
It has been another exciting week in our garden. The children have been busy harvesting our lettuce, radish, carrots and apples to make our very own side salad to go alongside our lunches.
The children thought it was delicious and even better as we had worked so hard to take for our plants to help them grow.
Flying Start @ Redruth Have Been Building Houses!!!
The children have been continuing their theme of On the farm. They have been busy creating their own animal barns and houses. We linked it to the book The 3 Little Pigs and used sticks and bricks. The sticks were very tricky to build with and much easier for the big bad wolf to knock down!
We then went on to make our very own stick people.
Flying Start @ Redruth Have Been Developing Fine Motor Skills!
Day nursery have been busy developing their fine motor skills whilst playing with the farm animals! They have been using the pipettes to wash away the ‘mud’ & have learnt new words, sounds & songs along the way!
Flying Start @ Redruth Get Messy!
This week we have all been enjoying lots of messy learning!
The Pre schoolers have been using locally sourced & home-grown vegetables to do outdoor painting & vegetable printing.
Day Nursery have been making Gloop potions in the mud restaurant & created some large artwork in a group bubble painting session!!
Flying Start @ Redruth Get Planting!
The Pre School children have been busy planting sunflowers seeds and are keen to watch them grow. They have also been creating their own sunflower pictures cutting out petals and using sunflower seeds to create the centre. They are so excited to watch their flowers grow!
