Flying Start @ Duchy Explore Items Through Their Babbling Babies!

Flying Start @ Duchy do a ‘Babbling Babies’ activity every day, these are activities from the ‘I Can Talk’ range that promote the babies babbling and exploring language and communication.

In this activity the babies were exploring the bricks, experimenting with building towers.

The adult guided their language and communication by making noises or counting for each brick balanced and then exclaiming when they all fell down!

This helped the children to learn to make sounds at each brick and the changes in sounds and volume when they all fell down!

If you would like a copy of any of the babbling baby activities to do at home just ask Holly.

The children helped to measure out ingredients with their parents, and their parents made guesses and predictions on what might happen.

Then the magic happened and we had eruptions, funny smells, mulit colours, and interesting liquids!

Thankyou to all the parents who joined in!

Flying Start @ Penryn have been having a busy time in the After School Club!

Kirsty has taken the After School Club under her wing and they really have started to fly forward!

The afterschoolers brainstormed how they would like their room to look and what they could do each day after school, and after lots of wacky suggestions the group with Kirsty were able to create an exciting and fun plan.

The children looked at the Police Ladies uniform, tried on the uniform and looked at what was kept in all of those pockets!

The children spotted the Police van in the car park so went out to sit in the van and even listen to the VERY NOISY sirens!

Thankyou for your time Becky and Caroline and teaching us lots about people who help us in our local community.

The children have walked to Camborne town and found the police station, so they know where to go if in any danger or need help from the police.

Flying Start @ Saltash’s Winter Walks!

Flying Start @ Saltash have been going out for Winter Walks!

saltash walk

Checking the weather, dressing up warm, remembering scarves and hats also and then getting out in the fresh air (oh and having time to pose for a photo)!

Although it has been very cold the children have enjoyed getting the fresh air and noticing how bright and sunny it also is.

On their walks they look for signs of other weathers… stomping in dew and frosty areas, searching for snow and of course finding lots of leaves, twigs and natural resources along the way!

Flying Start @ Duchy’s Spaghetti Fingers!

Flying Start @ Duchy have been exploring cooked spaghetti!

The children were using their hands to feel the texture of the slimy spaghetti…

 duchy spag1

They squeezed, squished, stretched and transported the stringy spaghetti!

On the paper they drew different lines to represent the spaghetti so that they could line it up, and they even drew circles for big piles of the spaghetti as they moved it between the tray and the paper!
