Flying Start @ Duchy’s babies have been finding great excitement in the different textures they can find….

The children have been exploring different materials and feelings using their hands, and sometimes their faces to roll on material and feel the different senses! 

Then they found…

BUBBLE WRAP!

Using their fingers to squish and squeeze the bubbles, the children have laughed hysterically popping the bubbles, running away from it and quickly returning to pop more and laugh all over again repeating the same sequence! 

Using their fine motor skills, and pincer grips the children quickly learnt this was the quickest way to get the popping result they were trying for!

Flying Start @ Penryn have been using ICT equipment to communicate!

Building walls, barriers and hiding behind anything possible inside and outside the children have been using walkie talkies to talk.

They even launched a large game of hide and seek, using the walkie talkies to get closer and closer to finding each other!

Flying Start @ Helston’s preschool children have started their weekly gym club!

The children are following a ‘healthy living’ themed gym club this half term, developing their independence, balance and coordination skills, hand eye coordination, fundamental movement skills such as hopping, jumping and throwing all linked to fruit vegetables and being healthy! …What a busy gym club they have!

Each session the children take of their shoes and socks and warm up, listening and feeling the effects on their bodies.

Then they join in some planned activities, this week they were focusing on their control of their bodies and rolling like carrots!

Flying Start @ Penryn have been busy role playing Christmas in the garden!

The children have made their play house into a Santa’s grotto, with tinsel and Christmas decorations looking very exciting in the garden!

The children have been listening out for sleigh bells, singing Christmas carols loudly to get the Reindeer’s attention and even delivering post and parcels!
