Flying Start @ Redruth Celebrate Father’s Day With Stay & Play!

Flying Start @ Redruth celebrated Father’s Day by opening the nursery doors to all dads for a special stay & play session!

All the dads were invited to join in with some fun outdoor activities, including hopscotch, obstacle courses, and baking in the mud kitchen!

After all this fun and exploring together, all the children and dads had     a big picnic together in the garden and enjoyed some snacks!

A huge thank you to all the dads who came along for the stay & play – the children had a brilliant time!

The pre-schoolers at Flying Start @ Redruth have been getting ready for going to big school soon with a very important thing… school uniforms!

The children have been trying on school uniforms and dressing up!

And for those who go to school in September, they’ve been practising those tricky buttons so that they are all ready!

What do we like to do when it is nice weather at Flying Start? Get out in our wonderful nursery gardens of course!

All the children at Flying Start @ Redruth have been putting their sun cream and sunhats on, and heading outside to splash splash splash with lots of water play…

They’ve been using buckets, cups, jugs and toys in the day nursery to have a splash and practise their pouring…

And in the pre-school, they’ve been taking it further with funnels and tunnels too, making a whole water works system!

  

A lovely fun way to keep cool in the sunshine!

The pre-school department have been exploring the natural objects they collected from their beach school trips!

 

The children used their imaginations to create turtles and funny faces!

The pre-schoolers also had a great time exploring their own ‘rock pool’ water tray, which the staff had created complete with seaweed, rocks and under the sea creatures!

The children had great fun splashing around, and they made up lots of imaginative stories with the animals!

The pre-school children at Flying Start @ Redruth have been continuing to explore different ways to eat healthily… and they decided to have a go at making their own fish fingers!!

They went on a trip to Tesco’s, where they looked at the fish counter, and the fishmonger spoke to them about catching the fish and how to cook them…

 

Once they had cooked and cooled, the children then enjoyed them as a healthy snack with a salad… mm, delicious!

Amazing healthy eating and cooking!

Flying Start @ Redruth Have Royal Wedding Celebration Day!

The whole nursery at Flying Start @ Redruth enjoyed a celebration day to mark the Royal Wedding, packed with fun activities…

The staff and children all came in dressed in their smart garden party outfits! Look how fantastic all the children looked!

Then they did lots of themed crafts including making a huge picture frame for a Royal Wedding photo booth, making their own crowns, and colouring in pictures of wedding cakes!

They enjoyed a special wedding day snacktime, and played in the garden too!

And then they even watched some of William & Kate’s royal wedding, to see what the real thing looks like…

What a Royally fun day!

Flying Start @ Redruth Toddlers Do Dinosaur Themed Art!

The toddlers at Flying Start @ Redruth have had a very creative time, making lots of dinosaur themed art!

They have created some lovely masterpieces by decorating dinosaurs with some ‘duplo scales’ and some dino eggs!

They have also been making dinosaur sculptures using playdough and pasta!

The children enjoyed using the pasta as spikes and  counting out how many spikes their dinsoaur was going to have!

Flying Start @ Redruth Have a Garden Party for Flying Start’s 25th Birthday!

Children, staff, parents & families at Flying Start @ Redruth all joined in with a wonderful Garden Party, to celebrate Flying Start’s 25th Birthday!

They made made bird feeders, painted pebbles, played with herb playdough, made a Flying Start scarecrow…

…and got stuck in digging and planting lots of new and exciting things in their garden, such as herbs and vegetables!

Then, after lots of fun in the garden, they sang happy birthday to Flora with a very special birthday cake, and enjoyed a birthday tea in the garden with balloons!

Flying Start Nurseries Celebrate 25 YEAR Anniversary! 

Flying Start Nurseries celebrates 25 years of trading today and offer heartfelt thanks to families who have supported them over a quarter of a century!

The Cowburn family have grown with the business – from 4 children to 4 adults, 2 of whom work in the business plus husbands and grandchildren who have all helped Flying Start keep pace with new ideas, trends and educational requirements.

Sharon Cowburn M.D. cut the cake in the Camborne Nursery this afternoon and enjoyed a moment of nostalgia as this was the first of 8 Flying Start Nurseries established on this day 25 years ago!

The pre-school children at Flying Start @ Redruth have been taking full advantage of the beautiful weather recently, and doing lots of outdoors play and learning in their garden!

They’ve been doing lots of activities focusing on letter and number recognition… their favourite is ‘walk the plank’ where they have to find the letter corresponding to their name in the water under the plank!

They even enjoyed snack time outside, to make the most of the lovely weather!
