Flying Start @ Redruth Plan Their School Transition…

Flying Start @ Redruth’s Preschool ‘School Ideas’.

redruth3

The preschool children have started a Floor Book to develop their new ‘school’ role play.

The children documented their ideas of what moving to Big School meant, they drew pictures and staff annotated with what they said … ‘wearing big boys uniform’, ‘new toys’ and a ‘playground’.

The role play will support the children’s views and start to help them think about all times of the school day and of their move to their new classrooms.

Flying Start @ Redruth’s Body Painting!

Flying Start @ Redruth Paint Paper With Their Bodies!

The children got really messy when they decided to do some painting recently…

Flying Start Nurseries Held A Competition Last Week For Their 23rd Birthday Across All Of The Nurseries!

It was Flora’s (the little girl in the logo!) birthday last week and she turned 23 years old! To celebrate the nurseries had parties, dressing up, picnics, birthday cakes and dancing and then were tasked with creating a ‘kite’.

It could be any format or style but was to represent Flora flying her kite and giving so many children across Cornwall and Plymouth a Flying Start to lifelong learning!

Flying Start @ Camborne, Cornwall College, Redruth and Helston all entered with these entries…

Flying Start @ Redruth Get a Visit From The Air Ambulance!

Flying Start @ Redruth Learn All About The Air Ambulance…

The children last week got a visit from Jackie from the Cornwall Air Ambulance, to help them learn all about the vital help they give people and how they make sure it is super quick!

redruth2 redruth3

The children tried on uniforms and helmets from the pilots and paramedics before being told some very interesting facts…

In March 44 missions were flown by the Cornwall Air Ambulance and 11 children and babies were helped! 16 patients were flown in the Air Ambulance to Derriford, 14 to Reliske and 1 to Bristol Infirmary!

Thankyou to Jackie from the Cornwall Air Ambulance for helping the preschool children learn about people who help them, volunteers that support the charity and the important jobs people do in the charity to look after all of us when we might need it.
